Ok, I'm sorry but your testing is WILDY INCONSISTENT. Not testing the smaller watches because you ASSUME they will perform better based on weight and having the same sensors is not scientific at ALL. ALSO, I would advise you redo your test of the galaxy watches. Because they have a learning algorithm where the sensors improve with time. Your testing periods were too short. The same person must be wearing the watch for at least 7 days worth of time before it configured to the individual.

If I interpret it correctly, then the Apple Watch measures very accurately, only the evaluation of the data is not good. That would mean that all you need is a good app that processes and interprets the data. Have you already tested apps like PeakWatch, Athlytic and Bevel or can you make a video about such a comparison? That would be great. Personally, I want to use only one device and not several. In the end it's my Apple Watch, as I also want to use a smartwatch. I would be happy to exchange experiences. Which apps do all of you use? Regards

After seeing your comparison of the temperature readings of 2 apple watches I wondered if comparing the absolute values makes sense since the whole purpose of the sensor is detecting the temperature change over time. So maybe their absolute values aren't really precise since they aren't used. Would be interesting to see if the temperature changes detected per watch are closer or look similar to your findings regarding the absolute values.

Bro I still don't get why this is still a discussion point, Apple depends on 3rd party app developers for apps that interpret this data Whoop or Oura like, i use an Apple watch and use Bevel after moving from Athlytic for this specific reason, I prefer the Apple Watch over every other device because for the most part, like you've shown on many of your videos that it is one of, if not the most accurate fitness device. This assessment would have be more fair if you had a Bevel subscription on your Apple Watch and compared that to the Oura and Whoop, lets all still remember that Apple is a Tech company first

Do you have to down load a third party app for Apple Watch to tell wrist/body temp?
@rpvnwnklАй бұрын
The comparison between watches has no relevance to the app. As you alluded to, the data is showing variation between devices. There was an assumption built into the experiment that both devices are identical, where in reality, each sensor on each watch will have a manufactured tolerance. The temp variation looks like noise as the readout is more granular than the repeatability and accuracy of the sensor. The blood O2 measurement seems to be much less accurate and have large variation, although I’m not sure how large the true variation is for reference. Definitely a control measurement would help.

I guess I am not certain what your fine, detailed analysis means. I wear one watch and as long as that watch provides consistent data and trends over time, even if those numbers were not as precise as one would like, could I not make conclusions in regard to those data/trends? As a non-scientist, I would equate the numbers to a bathroom scale being a couple of pounds off. As long as it is consistent and keeps me informed of trends in my weight management, shouldn’t I be somewhat satisfied? Thanks again for your always informative videos.

@michaelcuneo37427 күн бұрын
What’s funny is that you’re getting that with AW, you just have to think more. Also, you shouldn’t depend on any wearable to determine how you feel.
@davidkaplan551726 күн бұрын
@@michaelcuneo374no. Because you don’t know what your above average and below average ranges are as your fitness changes. Whoop has all the algorithms that put it into context. Apple doesn’t. And also-feelings are overrated. You may feel badly but still be able to perform.
@michaelcuneo37419 күн бұрын
@@davidkaplan5517 Actually, feelings are quite well rated. What we know about ALL wearables is that none of them are even close to 100% accurate. Moreover, the inconsistency with the accuracy across any given metric makes things even more convoluted. There’s a growing phenomenon of people over analyzing data that isn’t even particularly accurate and using that to determine how they feel and what they do with their day when your body has a built-in system that usually gives you a pretty great idea of that. I used Whoop for a long time and the idea that people are saying, “Nah, I can’t train hard today because the score says I’m tired” when they are not, in fact, tiredis quite sad.

Rob "from the future": one question: did you wear the watches (1 vs 2) on the same wrist for the duration of the test? Interestingly, the blood flow into each arm is somewhat different, there is a difference in blood pressure (perfusion) probably less in a young healthy active person like you. So , what I would suggest, if you have time, do a crossover.....switch the watches to the other hand for another couple of days and then analyze the crossover data.....and then, maybe average them?
