If someone has a smartphone/iPhone AND and Apple Watch, maybe it's time they consider disconnecting a little. That $400-$800 piece of complete redundancy would go a long way to help the charity of your choice. And you'l probably get a bump in personal satisfaction from the donation. Based on my observations that $400-$800 will be sitting in a drawer in your house within a year and those shelter animals will still be in their cages, or whatever charity you choose.

He means while using the toilet, showering and brushing his teeth and probably getting dressed. I've done the same with a couple of other rival smart watches and I'd recommend that practice especially if you're using it to measure your heart beat and determine your sleep patterns, etc.

Apple Watch 2 is brilliant. Had it like 7 weeks. I swim and run on alternate days and it's awesome. I use it for notifications but I don't get email notification because that would annoy me. I love the Siri and scribble features. This watch made me love apple again.

Great balanced review. I am glad I've waited for the second generation to get into the smartwatch game. Still waiting for mine to arrive and still not sure whether I'll put it to good use. Yet another gizmo without real purpose probably. But at least this time it seems to work just fine.

Very pleased with the Apple Watch v2. Tried purchasing food using Apple Pay on Watch at work when iPhone was in locker at back of building (logged on to wifi) and I was at front of building and it worked! Down side was that I couldn't access Siri.

David Lahusen You are so right. The other thing is 3rd party apps still run slow in comparison to other smart watch 3rd party apps on their respective platforms. Even with watchOS 3 developers still have to create an iPhone app, even if you want a native watch app. Other smart watch platforms don't require them to make an actual phone app for a native watch app.

this watch has been a life saver for "ME". I am constantly on the go and usually carrying something, making it a hassle to grab my phone. The watch makes it easy for me to jot notes or set reminders via siri.

Several inaccuracies.... for one it's not "night and day" speed improvements because of the dual core chip watchOS 3 brings the dock which is actually the great improvement, the 2nd hole on the side isn't a microphone, and the brightness isn't "nearly doubled" it's literally more than twice as bright. The previous model was 450 nits this one is 1,000. Additionally, there are 8 GB of internal storage not 6...

Sure, I didn't say anything about its abilities, but they did the opposite of the Italians. Italians make some of the crappiest products but design is always ala Michelangelo. No wonder with their long history in arts and architecture. Apple was once known for making tech look and seem stylish and cool and were good at design. Sadly those times seem to be behind them. Apple watch looks as least impressive peace of expensive tech I have seen in a while, and regardless of its performance or feel, it looks like something a child would put on their hand or a teenager in the late 90's early 2000's.

I think that the "overly animated" notifications are something that Apple does so that they're able to give you the buzz/alert tone. Then the animation can basically cover up the process of loading the data to display from the phone momentarily.

I have been debating getting one and seeing all the reviews as far as the fitness part of the watch goes, I am not sure. I have a FitBit now, but was hoping to get something more encompassing. Too man reviews say, "not really worth it" especially being so expensive. Guess I will keep waiting.

With watch os 3 I think the first gen watch aged better actually. On watch os 1 it was slow and clunky now it's faster and more optimized. I think I'll keep the first one for another four years or so before thinking about getting a new one.

I am looking at buying an Apple watch series 2. I am mostly looking to use it in the gym and as an all-day activity tracker. I have seen a lot of reviews saying that the apple watch struggles to track your heart rate when it gets too high. I am not a big runner. Our home is basically Apple so I considered the Apple Watch 1. Reviews were lukewarm and my instinct was to wait for Apple Watch 2. My instinct was right. I bought the Apple Watch wondering if I'd like it or use it. My thought was if I didn't use it I'd sell it. It's the best purchase I made in a long time. Most of our stores here in Canada have NFC (tap) and now I can pay for everything on my watch instead of hauling my iPhone out. The health features are great and i monitor my heart rate as I had a Tachycardia ( high heart rate) in the past. Not to mention I still freak out people taking calls on my watch, it's quite doable.

Yes, although make sure you compare audio quality on both watches and see which one you like. The 2 is a big improvement, but more expensive.

Aliex Folgueira there is lots of smart watches on the market. Since looks are a factor. Then suggesting anything to you would not help you. However you can do a web search and see that there is many alternatives. Also if you have the new iPhone 7, then there is some Bluetooth connection issues with some smart watch platforms.

Definitely not worth it. The heart rate monitor is inconsistent, notifications are inconsistent, and running/swimming tracking is inaccurate too. The cheapest model is $350, but if you want a steel watch with steel band the price jumps to a ridiculous 900-1000 dollars. A total rip off.

I prefer the pebble over the Apple Watch for 2 reasons. 1) lasts an entire week with one charge and 2) hundreds of watch faces to choose from. I just need the watch to tell me the time and notify me about my phone, not necessarily have my phone on my wrist.

I loved wearing watches, but did not want to invest into first generation technology that was going to evolve fast so I got a simplr Pebble watch. Loved it while i had it, I traded in eventually cause i had problem with bluetooth connection issue, so I got a warranty refund and paid 70 dollar more for an actual smartwatch!

At first, I disagreed, but I have to admit, you're right on most points. Apple should have released this as the first version from the get-go. But this is typical Apple. They NEVER release the good stuff in the beginning. They like to squeeze every penny they can. They probably have even better technology, but we won't see it for a while. Having said that, I have the original and am still quite satisfied with it. I've owned most of the flagship Android Wear watches, but I still like the Apple Watch much better.

There are lots of other places to buy bands than amazon. In fact, amazon's prices are higher than the competition more than 80% of the time according to Dow Jones. Search ebay buy it now, bh photo, jet.com, Walmart best buy, bing or Google before blindly buying on amazon and grossly overpaying Nearly every vendor offers free shipping for free so why pay for prime ebay offer free fast and free shipping usually 2- 3 days without having to pay a yearly fee

I am not able to tag you because KZbin comments are broken, but yes. It comes with 8 GB storage, and around 5.5 GB of that are for you to fill with apps and music. You copy the music through your Watch app on iPhone, by creating a playlist of the music you want. You can only sync playlists

Colbetes 8D I don't use Spotify but since Spotify is not available on the Watch (according to its app store page), then I don't believe it works the same way.
