With all the praise you gave to the Ultra, surprising to hear you are going back to the Series 7. The only time I’ll be wearing my Series 7 is when my Ultra needs to charge. I completely agree with your conclusion that the longer battery life and larger screen alone justify the upgrade. When I put my Series 7 on now, it feels too small and the significantly worse battery life is enough to justify keeping the Ultra as my primary watch.

@@Wiseguy1138 i think it’s extremely durable. i haven’t had it that long yet, but the raised lip around the screen definitely helps protect the display. the titanium itself seems to be a lot more durable than aluminum or stainless steel. if you want to protect it without a case or screen protector though i would honestly recommend getting the monthly apple care+, i think it’s only like $4-$5 a month!

Having tried the ultra myself I feel like it just doesn't go as well with normal daily fits and clothings, and is harder to match with normal bands as well. It just sticks out too much and less sleek compared to series. Also the design of the new bands (the lock on mechanisms) is not really convenient for taking the watch on/off and switching bands. They are also not as comfortable as the other watch bands as well.

Just got mine with the trail loop! I am loving it so far! Took it on a 7.5 Miles run with cellular streaming music and it felt so good and the larger screen made it super easy to see information at a glance.

@@Max_Dillin So I have been leaving my phone in the car for a few days now and using my watch exclusively for streaming music, texting, and made a few calls during the day. I am still ending the day with around 52%. That’s with two GPS workouts also. No complaints so far!

I love my Ultra. I did not buy an Apple Watch until Series 5 and I never liked it. This was the one I was waiting for. Display brightness and battery life are the killer features. I hate the bands and replaced mine with a third party band.

Great review dude. Coming from someone that would want it for being something more rugged, not so rounded and soft, and the battery life, I think you hit the mark with it. I haven’t decided on series 8 or ultra yet but it’s enticing. I just can’t get past the height of it. The bigger screen is nice. But it’s so tall.

I love my Apple Watch ultra and i have never hiked or dived a day in my life. My first Apple Watch was the Hermes and then i got the white ceramic watch. So this was a great price for me. Thanks great video.

It's a fantastic upgrade from my Watch v4. Even the simple fact I can hit the side buttons easier means a lot to me when paying 'covertly' under a shirt or jacket sleeve. The AOD and larger screen are just superb. I can now type messages out and don't always need my iPhone anymore. An expensive but very good upgrade imho. A lot of great features and I love it 🙂👍🏻 Just to add - I do have a UK data plan with EE and I am still getting 48 hrs out of it before I plug it in at like 30-odd% anyway! It's mad. I am no fitness or 'Ultra' person but I really do enjoy this watch.

The Apple Watch Ultra is definitely a cool watch. I do recommend to some people. Its built like a tank and works extremely well. However, I highly suggest you try it on first and wear it for a couple of days to see if you like it or not. Personally, I had to return mine. I notice the biggest problem for me was its size. It was so massive on my wrist (I have 16cm wrists). It looked awesome but it became more of a distraction (even with the screen turned off). I couldn't help but constantly stare at it even time I twisted my wrist. It look cartoon/comically too big on my wrist. Luckily I had a 7 day money back guarantee. So I got my money back. I hope this helps.

@4:10 titanium dose not patina. Titanium is titanium, hence it doesn’t have iron in its molecular makeup. Steel has iron in it and the patina is the irons molecular breakdown in the steel. That is why stainless steel is more refined to remove as much of the iron out of it to eliminate rusting (patina).

Actually the screen isn’t larger. It’s just flat so it appears Larger. Compare the message text from your 7 or 8 Watch to the Ultra. You get the same amount of text. The curved corners eat up the size

I was very disappointed with my series 5, mainly due to battery life.. but I gambled and bought the Ultra and was blown away! Battery life is amazing now and the screen/display is fantastic!👏👏👏 I wear G shocks usually so this is a nice size for me and have been surprisingly impressed with it, great job apple👌

Apple Watch Ultra is my first Apple Watch. I was waiting for decent battery life since the first Apple Watch. This one lasts me over 2 days on 1 charge and I love it. It’s very light for its size (lighter than the smaller AW stainless steel with the link bracelet) and the flat screen is brilliant. I highly recommend this device to anyone who doesn’t mind a little bigger watch on their wrist.

Amazed that you chose the battery life as your main selling point. Compared to most other smart watches, the Ultra is actually a joke. Any Garmin gives you heaps more battery life. I wanted to buy this, even put it in my shopping basket. Was about to pay but stopped myself and started looking at the MARQ series watches from Garmin. The Adventurer is probably the way I want to go. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big Apple fan, but having to charge the Ultra every two or three days is really disappointing 😮

For me I’m getting it because I’m planning on ditching the phone for the most part. So battery life, screen size, features, and ruggedness are key. I do like hiking though and I fly as well so the way finder and night modes are very important.

I honestly wasn’t thinking about this one and currently have the series 7. I don’t really do anything super active other than the gym but man is it growing on me. I was originally going to get your combo of stainless steel with the link bracelet (which is absolutely beautiful and the main reason I even considered the stainless steel Apple Watch) but after spending a few weeks with both the one I found myself reaching for the most often was the Ultra. the ultras raw industrial design is just so beautiful with its flat display it feels like an extension of nature, its so eye catching that whenever I had it on I couldn't help but look at it every time I looked at my wrist. whereas whenever I had the link bracelet stainless steel 41mm I was just uninspired and disappointed, except when the light hit the bracelet in the right way but if Im paying that much for a watch I want it to feel and look just as good as the ultra. its been nearly a decade and the Apple Watch has had the same hideous rounded design, every time I see an Apple Watch in the wild no matter what band someone is wearing or what material the watch is made of they all look like this same black block with a trapezoidal silhouette that looks so boring. love my ultra and the midnight ocean band, genuinely one of apples most beautifully designed products.

Can you do a call quality comparison vs the series 7/8 ( decibel wise ) it seems that it uses a voice isolation mode, like FaceTime audio does while walking on a busy street for example. And it seems that only then the louder speaker kicks in. While testing it in office it seems to be similar to the 7/8. Can’t confirm this though. Thanks for the effort 😉.
