Not all to long ago I was sure what kind of wood I would choose for my dream guitar. But with every one of your creations I start to overthink what I really want. Thanks for that, for keeping me open minded towards “strange” choices. This guitar is magnificent.

Thanks you Mike, that’s really kind and I’m the same! There are so many beautiful woods to choose from, so many unique pieces and I love using something that is unique if possible. It’s really nice to create something that can’t be replicated. 👍

One of the things about nature is you can't reproduce it. Sometimes that ends up to be a double edge sword. Looks like you have a piece that can be passed down for generations. Good work.

Truly impressed with your work and I'm learning a lot. I did my first build 4 years ago using a felled Apricot tree in my yard, and was talked out of doing something similar with an Apple tree. You've convinced me that Apple wood CAN be a wonderful choice and will be working towards that in the future. I love your reimagined Tele design and the quality of your work. What a beautiful guitar! Thank you for the inspiration!

Just home from band practice to this treat of a video. I still can't believe how glossy that finish is, it looks like a pool of water you could dip your hand into. Remarkable work as always Gio! I didn't realise which guitar show you were at either last weekend, I'd a few friends on other stands you could have met - some on Ibanez, some on Markbass, etc. Next time!

Thanks once again Mike for another very kind comment. 😂 yes I think Todd really likes this one! It’s interesting we swap so many pics each week on wood we’ve bought but it is really noticeable that we have a big divide in the species that we each have lots of access to. He gets some wonderful South American stuff, better than I could ever get and then I have access to more of the African woods. It makes for interesting conversations. We are doing an annual wood exchange now though which is great!

Wow.. you just HAD to do it.. Now I am torn between the Olive and the Apple. Just glad you said that particular piece was rare so I don't have to abandon my opinion of Olive. You have seriously mastered the art of shine. It really looks like that top was covered with glass. Sorry for the lost footage. I think everyone has done that or lost some for various reasons. I lost a good chunk of my LZZY build because I let the camera roll longer than it could write.
@TornelliGuitars
@TornelliGuitars Жыл бұрын
Thanks Bill, yes I knew I’d lose some footage at some point! Thanks once again for the compliment, I’m pretty comfortable with this finishing technique now which is nice because I do think a gloss finish is a really useful thing to be able to do. And yes, I love the olive too, I will have to try to find another top this year, I’m always looking out, they’re just very rare!
@borgonianevolution
@borgonianevolution Жыл бұрын
@@TornelliGuitars I stick to gloss finishes simply because they are so much easier to keep clean and nice. Some peoples guitars are just flat out disgusting. Some maple necks I have seen seem like they would actually carry the bubonic plague or some other world ending disease they get so nasty.

Gorgeous. I really like the way the 2 tone fretboard forms a bridge from the body to the headstock. You’ve developed a really nice range that’s both familiar yet totally unique, but what I really like is there’s this understated class to everything you do. What shielding paint do you use? I have the Rustins and it’s horrible and messy. I look like a 2 year old who’s found a lump of coal.
@TornelliGuitars

Great workmanship and design. Well presented video also. I'm systematically watching all your videos, to enhance my newly acquired desire to also build guitars.
