Ha, I wasn’t expecting that, what a nice surprise. Thanks for the shout out, I really do appreciate it. I keep thinking that I should probably get a more sensible channel name, maybe something exciting like fatpotanga2000 . To GGBO, I think this is going to be so cool. Really pleased you’re both doing another build along. And I couldn’t agree more about the community. It’s a great thing to be a part of and it doesn’t matter what you do or how well or badly you do it, everyone has each others back. That’s a rare thing.

Oh it's much deeper than a "bromance"😂 we share a way of thinking about guitar building even though we may go about it differently, the end result we both go for is, clean and elegant. Functional and utilitarian. I have a tendency to stray a little but doing this with Gio keeps my root principles in check and honestly makes me a better builder. I'm so glad to be doing this with him. He's such a great builder and an even better friend!! Thank you so much for all of your support!!✌️🤍

Gentlemen!! Thank you first of all for being such inspirational men to our community. I have learned so much from the two of you since we met. As craftsman I have TONS of respect for you as you both hold to qualities I was taught by my Grandfather. I think that was what originally made me gravitate to you. He was a mold maker in a huge plastics company so you know how precise his work had to be. So your dedication to perfection as well as proper wood working not short cutting anything in what you do means a lot to me. Thank you Both for becoming more than just acquaintances. Thank you also for the shout out and ALL of the support you have given as I would not have been able to do a build like that last year on my own. BTW that cavity was started with the Dremel but finished with a super long 1/4" chisel which I had to grind the handle down so it was long enough to complete the cavity.

I'm planning on building a double bound tele (black with black pearl binding) and wanted to use the same black pearl binding on the maple neck, plus big block inlays (black pearl too). I can't imagine the guitar to be able to tell if it won't be too 'crowded' with all the binding. I'm glad you're going this direction! It will help me decide. Can't wait :)
@TornelliGuitars
@TornelliGuitars Жыл бұрын
That sounds great! I’m not planning a pickguard for mine which I’m hoping will keep it looking clean. I haven’t decided on the fret markers yet but I think I’ll keep them small. Are you planning on using a pickguard? I guess a solid black pickguard may be a good way to go if you are?
@piotrkarel
@piotrkarel Жыл бұрын
@@TornelliGuitars I'm not planning a pickguard. I'd like a nice flamed maple top with a deep black burst, which will show some figure in the centre. It will be a '73 custom build with widerange HB in the neck and the classic chrome tele bridge. You're using a 'colourful' fingerboard, so small markers should work really nice. I'm planning on plain maple. Like the '75 JazzBass :)
