This Apple Yogurt Cake starts with a wonderfully dense and moist cake that tastes of almonds. The almond flavor comes from adding ground almonds and pure almond extract to the batter. Next, is a layer of thinly sliced apples, lightly sweetened. Lastly, we sprinkle the cake with sliced almonds. This cake is really good, and the great part is no one will ever guess how easy it is to make.

I have tried many recipes for simple coffee cakes. This one by far is the best. My cake turned out perfect. I tried with and without almond flower and both were fluffy, moist and delicious. My family loves this cake. I really appreciate not using huge mixers. I hardly subscribe to videos on KZbin but just subscribed to joy of baking. Looking forward to making the others.

I baked this cake today. It's an absolute winner and delicious. I was out of vanilla essence and almond extract so added a dash of cinnamon to the batter. Used a mix of coconut sugar and regular sugar (less 25 gm). Also used homemade yogurt. The texture is simply unbelievable. Thanks for this lovely recipe Stephanie. The next time I bake this cake I'll ensure the missing ingredients are in.

I made your original yogurt cake a few days ago and it was divine! I used Noosa vanilla bean yogurt and the flavor of that along with the vanilla extract and almond flour was heavenly! Hi Stephanie! What an amazing cake! I made it with a slight change I put the butter and sprinkle some brown sugar and cinnamon on the bottom of the pan then the apples and walnuts(I hadn't almonds) and on top of that the cake batter! The idea from the upside-down cakes. It came out perfect! The apples slightly caramelized and the cinnamon really gives something extra! Thanks for the lovely recipe! Keep up the good work!

Hoarders keep buying up all the baking supplies so wish me luck when I go out shopping tomorrow. I am immune compromised so have to dash in and out of stores quickly.
