Yeah...me too. 40 years ago, Arizona had the best residency requirement. I think it was 30 days. In Arizona, you couldn't move out of the state without permission of the non-custodial patent. Florida however had no restrictions on moving and it was final after 20 days. You need to know the laws in your state.... in the US.

The courts are only needed if the parties don't agree on the settlement. Krista volunteered to pay that amount and willingly and knowingly signed a contract agreeing to pay it. If she refuses to pay, Willow can pursue it in court, or Krista can get a lawyer and try to have the contact voided. But it wasn't illegal for them to make the agreement the way they did.

But I contend that OP represented this as being a legal claim, that is entitled to her because of it being an adultery claim on the divorce. Since it wasn't, her claim is extortionate. She used trickery. Full stop extortion.

Was a little sad that there was no mention of the $600k in the epilog and how, or if, Krista and Patrick managed to pay it in a lump sum.
