I tried the card trick based on the advice of another video, but wasn't able to get it to work. I like how you explained that the touchscreen actually "extends" past the frame. When I tried it again based on that fact, it worked! So thanks for that wonderful explanation!

My gf was just roasting me for having a "jank car" (2014 Camry) and has this exact same problem. I have the same issue. Going to try it. Thanks for your video. Dealer wanted $4500 for just the radio not including labor, or $1000 for a rebuild. You would think with so many having this issue that there hasn't been a recall. Whoever built these units needs to be held accountable.

I agree and brought this question up with the service advisor at Toyota and recalls are made by the manufacture for safety issues he said. I then asked him why Toyota send a letter out to their customers having peeling paint issues (not a safety issue) to have their car repainted and he didn't have answer. I think some bored lawyer needs to start a class action lawsuit based upon the volume of issues alone on this thread to have Toyota address this issue. It's crazy that a fantastically reliable car company can't get the simple things right like paint and radios. My two cents. Any lawyer takers?

GUYS I SOLVED IT, I did what he did in the video and it didn’t work and then I saw a random tissue in my car so I did the same thing as the video but I wrapped my card with the tissue (kfc wetwipe lmao) and it worked

Let me first say I was frustrated because I couldn't sync my new Samsung s10 plus to my car. I tapped on the add button for days unavailable to get the car system to connect with my new phone. This really works!!!! NOTE: If the Add/Remove buttons are blanked out, remember that the car needs to be at a stop for the car to give you access to these buttons (assuming its a safety thing). If the Remove button doesnt work, simply press Add, and have your device ready to pair. It'll ask to replace a connected device, since the car is full on device space. Good luck!!!

I was doing the pen method but realized that I could push underneath the screen with my nail and it works flawlessly now 😁. In my case it's a Camry Hybrid 2017 that was purchased brand new. Screen started failing about a year ago. Heat seems to be responsible for this.

Guys, this works. I have a 2015 corolla. I got a new Samsung S20 and could not delete the old phones nor add the new one on the car screen. The credit card trick works. "Remove" button was easy (the bottom left corner). Adding a new phone was a little harder (make sure to unpair the old phone first; the old phone data for the car exists on the new phone because I used the data transfer app to transfer from the old phone data to the new phone). The right bottom corner (the ADD phone button) on the corolla screen, kept going to a "clear trip data" screen. But after few tries it went to add phone screen and I could pair the new phone to the car. THANK YOU. Yes, the dealer told me to spend $1000 or go to an after market shop to get it done for $500. Well, I did it for free and 5 min of my time.
