If the part is damaged it can cause that issue. You will need to replace the part if it's not holding the filter.

Hey, thanks but may i ask you a question? Recently, i noticed an accumulation of water in the bottom of the fridge. I found the culprit was the filter base. Every time the water dispenser was activated, water ran out of the back of the base. I have replaced the base and have the same problem. Any thought on why it would leak water there? I have a video clip if you need one

What if you change it and the filter still won’t lock in place?

remove the locking strip on the old filter and replace the one on the new filter as I did

You will need to determine where the water is leaking from. It could be a water line with a crack in it, or a faulty drain pan or a stopped up drain hose.

The number that you provided appears that it could be the start of the model number or a part number. Can you please verify that number?

Frigidaire is junk and they need new cad software as most inside shelves/drawers etc. are too narrow for the unit
