I really wish the tech in this video would have ran the microwave for ~10 seconds, or demonstrated the issue visually and audibly. That would have been of tremendous importance for future diagnostic.

Dude, if the turntable is making "Noise" that it didn't make before, when it starts to turn, there is your diagnostic.... Mine just started making noise when it just starts turning, and I know its that little motor... :)

If the noise is from the turntable motor shouldn't it be quiet if the turntable is set to not rotate? How does one troubleshoot if it is actually the turntable motor?

I replaced the turntable motor, still doesn't turn and the grinding didn't go away, could it be the motor on the top of the oven? My model is actually JVM1640BB002. Thanks for any help.
@Appliancevideo
@Appliancevideo 11 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is a possibility the motor is the problem. I would shut the unit down and disconnect power to the motor and then see if the grinding stops. Sometimes the magnetron can make a grinding noise when its going out also. Start with the motor first. If you are in need of any parts or parts department has over 5-million in stock for same day shipping. Please call 1-800-830-5465, for any of your parts needs or order online at: ApplianceVideo.com.
