On of the best detalied videos I've watched about FIT. Being in the city, how much do you actually spend besides all the school expenses?
@MurphyBeltowskii8 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! I think I spend around $160 on groceries per month and around $120 on the subway per month! Then there are always little things that come up like birthdays and events so then I spend money on that!

Murphy Beltowski is there a way to apply early? And when should I apply if that is possible
@sadiel.83288 жыл бұрын
I have a 3.85 gpa and I am in the national honor society, national English honor society, a school club, national business honor society, play two high school sports, and have been mentoring lower classmen.. Is that involved enough? Should I do a few more things before applying?

You are definitely involved!! Good for you! I don't think you will have an issue getting in if you write a stand-out essay! Good Luck!

I am still in high school and I plan on applying to FIT. I plan on doing art, so I will have to make a portfolio, on that note I want to know the specifics for making a portfolio for applying. When i visited their website it only showed me requirements for applying for art majors. So can you help me figure this out. Do I need to decide my major Before going there and make a portfolio on that or is there a general portfolio that i have to make for applying and getting into FIT.

Just found this video and it's great! I'm applying as a transfer for spring 2017. My main problem is money and transferring credits. Do out of state students usually get money? Thanks!

If you apply for financial aid, you will receive some but it depends on your financial situation. You can speak to the bursar's office or the office of financial aid for more info.

Hey Murphy! This video is amazing! I have encountered the same problem, I chose the wrong major. Could you tell me more about how you switch your major during application process? Thank you!

This is the best video I've found about fit. Just q quick question, what kinds of extracurricular activities did you do in high school? I'm only going to be a sophomore in high school, but I'm looking at going to fit for college in the fall of 2019, and I want to start earlier. Thank you!!
@MurphyBeltowskii8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It's smart to start early! I was on the varsity Pom team for 4 years. I also was in a business club for 3 years, as well as the National honor society. I also was a member of my school's leadership committee and I was a mentor for incoming students. So I was really involved as you can see.. Lol Xoxox

For the presidential honors program, what ACT/SAT score do they usually look for?
@MurphyBeltowskii8 жыл бұрын
I am not sure if they look at the ACT/SAT, but I would recommend having a high GPA. Like 3.5 or better.

Very helpful video! Do you have any tips for a student with a 3.0 gpa? Is there anything in particular that you can do to set you apart from others, making up for the low gpa? Thank you!
@MurphyBeltowskii8 жыл бұрын
I would just include extracurricular activities and volunteer work! I'm sure that they don't look down on a 3.0, especially if you show you have a drive and passion to attend FIT.

Will AP class credits transfer/ get you out of a class even if you didn't get a 3,4, or 5 on the AP exam?
@MurphyBeltowskii7 жыл бұрын
Marissal0l14 you need at least a 3 in order for an AP class to count as a credit. If you don't get at least a 3, then the class does not transfer. FIT does accept AP credits for some courses.

What does FIT look for in terms of GPA?
@MurphyBeltowskii8 жыл бұрын
I would think at least. 3.0 or better! I had a 3.8 from high school!

Do I need to submit my 11th grade marks as well?
@MurphyBeltowskii7 жыл бұрын
Mallika Chhabra you submit a transcript from your high school. It depends on your high school, but I think a transcript includes all marks through high school. You need to officially order a transcript to send to the colleges that you apply to
