Vivienne Andersson it definitely was a crazy time in the height of the industry as a whole plus of course studio 54. Individual design houses still had all there brand name designers creating for them.

Hiii,when doing the sketches do the croquis have to be drawn or can we use a template from the internet? and when trying to get in what else do we have to know apart from knowing how to sew?is drawing a big deal? and do we need to do pre college or take any specific classes during highschool?Im currently a sophomore in highschool and im taking fashion design 1 so im starting to do my research because this is something i want to do:)))Hope you can answer Thanks

When doing a sketch it’s always better to use a croqui in order to get the proportions right. Whether you make your own Croqui or not is up to you. Watching videos and reading books on areas of design while in school is also a very good idea. If you already know what type of design you want to specializing in dive deeper in research for that area. I hope this makes sense and helps you. Keep watching.

Hi. I'm 18 and I'm from Iran. I just graduated from high school and I really want to go to a fashion school or university. the thing is, I didn't study art in high school ( I studied biology) and all I know about fashion designing is what I've learned from youtube and the internet. I know how to use a sewing machine and I can draw fashion figure croquis. but yet, I can't draw patterns for fabric. I haven't considered a specific university but I really would like to study in the UK. is there any chance I can get into a fashion school? cause I'm from Iran and I don't have an art/design diploma. thank you

Hi there snd thank you for your comment. If course you have a chance at art or design school even if you didn’t study it at first. You just have to gave a Strong portfolio! I can’t tell you the requirements needed in the UK design schools. All I can say is your very young and you have time! Make items sew, sketch, and develop your skill. My channel has most all aspects of fashion design in them. Watch and review learn and practice. I wish you the best!

I taught at Miami International University of Art and Design in Miami. The Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota Florida is a good one too. Not sure about any others.

hello, can the moodboard for FIT be submitted as an image (png) instead of printing pictures,pasting and then scanning on slideroom. And also, can we have a whole country chosen as destination instead of a specific city? Lastly, i had confusion regarding the mix and match project, like does it have to be twofashion figures wearing the top, jacket and pant, and then the same top and skirt?

Please contact FIT for all of those questions. All the rules have changed since I entered many years ago. I do not work for the University. I am just giving you guidelines for success. Good luck to you:)!!!

That is a administration question. I would call them on that. As far as the mix and match most likely they want you to have several models wearing different pieces of the same line that would mix and match. If that makes sense for an example one model has a top and skirt the other has a long sleeve blouse and pant, and maybe the last one has a sweater with a different length skirt. I am not completely sure unless I actually see the rules they send out. Never fear to ask questions directly to THEM!

@@kifayatkhan4921 It looks like there are programs for study in Milan and Florence. I think it is for students registered in the United States. I would contact the main school in New York to ask about this. I hope that helps.
