Very well explained and easy to understand. I liked that you showed both the correct and incorrect ways to do it. Good luck with the channel!

As an Alaskan commercial/professional fisherman, I concur. Parallel lines create more bite than crossed lines, more bite means less slip. Also, never cross the lines from cleat to cleat, thats a good way to wear through the line with friction from vessel movement.

Thanks for the question. I'm just offering my own opinion here. Assuming '0X' would represent a half wrap cleat hitch as described in the video, '0X0' adds a full wrap after the hitch is locked. I think that last wrap would add a little friction to the cleat and take some excess line off of the dock, but that last wrap would not have as much load bearing qualities as would '00X'. The last wrap in 0X0 might also lead to some extra line chaffing and the possibility of being jammed in the throat by load coming from the first wrap (which would result in difficulty undoing the hitch on occasion). My own bias would be 00X over 0X0. Good luck with Seductress!
