She is such a good speaker, particularly the part at the end where she repeats the questions, everybody should do that! Really loved the talk.

The material and insights are great, but she could definitely improve her speaking skills. She's obviously quite nervous and makes a lot of little mistakes. Nothing that detracts from the value of the talk though. She just needs to do this more to get more comfortable with it.

I love talks by the Hyper Light team. They're always so passionate and informative.

Hyper Light Drifter is among the best games I've played in recent years. It especially stands out as an indie production. I love the way that she talks. She really understands what she did for the game that made it work, hence speaking in a very fluent manner.

3:20 wow the same limitation doom had back in the day. No wonder both games have unbelievably labyrinthian level structures.

This was great. HLD is one of the best designed games ever made, imo, so this insight is invaluable.

Curious though, how does one seperate these jobs durinv production? As a level designer, do you get an in-engine level editor to quickly test your findings?

@@msPacmanization Depends entirely on the engine. But usually, yes.

The only thing i didn't like (hope they address in their next game) they hid all the secret stuff on the sides of the screen so players had a tendency to just run along the side walls and stuff.

Some people just do And anxious people tend to do so more apperantly (not sure if it's the case) There could be many reasons but it's not on purpose, also giving speeches doesn't look like their main job (or I missed that).
