You mentioned sealing water-based pencils/crayons with matte medium. Doesn't that make them smear as soon as you touch them? Loved your video and looking for more!

Yes, they can smear from applying matte medium. It's better to use a spray, but I don't like to spray in my studio and the weather is often rainy in Seattle, so I usually just use the medium.

I paint on ‘cradled panels’ or ‘cradled boards.’ They are thin sheets of fine plywood with a kind of frame attached to the back.

I use cradled panels from American Easel. If you have a resale permit you can apply for a wholesale account with them (reduced prices).

Hi Jeanne, I use Golden brand Top Coat (semi-gloss) as a final coat. I apply it with a makeup sponge and dilute with a bit of water. This would be a good topic for a future video. Thanks for the idea!
