Applying Concealer, Foundation, Blush & Review Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup, Mature Women over 50

I've heard about Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer & foundation makeup for awhile now from other beauty vloggers and thought I'd give a review and wear it for at least 12 hours. I also applied the concealer, foundation, blush & contouring as a how to beauty tutorial video for you. I really gave this foundation and concealer of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place makeup a workout as I wore it under the heat of video lighting and also in below 0 temperatures outside where it was freezing my face. I bought these products from a local drug store and although my beauty KZbin videos attract women over 50, this could be a good beauty video for a woman in their thirties or forties too!

I’m amazed at how many beauty bloggers are just now discovering Ester Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation! I started wearing it shortly after it was introduced in 1997 - the same year our daughter got married. I am now 68 and still wearing it, same color (2C3, Fresco - Cool Undertone Rosy), and must say it is the only foundation I’ve ever used that did not turn orange on my face after a few hours. I’ve had so many compliments on my makeup over the years - I truly love this foundation! I had used several other foundations prior to Double Wear - Clinique, Mary Kay, Lancôme, and others. I came across your hooded eyelid video by accident. I'm so glad to have found you. Since about my mid 30's (I'm 43 soon to be 44 now) my eyelids started drooping and it made doing my makeup harder. I just love your videos on make-up application and clothing tips for us older ladies!!! I'm 69 (and I just never thought I'd be 69!). I've used Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and Estee Lauder Concealer for over 6 years now, and I find it to be great for my skin. Not too heavy, but good coverage! Even though I have some troubled skin issues, such as you have, I still get many compliments on my skin and make-up! I've learned a couple of new tips from your video! Heather, that foundation & concealer went on nice&light; it really looks as though it is moisturizing. Estee Lauder has got a nice reputation for excellence in their products. I know that their products are a little pricey, but the products are worth every penny. Heather, you're a beautiful 63yr old, you're aging like fine wine. I've always liked that saying... You know, truth be told; my nose & ears are bigger. My skin is still looking pretty good, even though I've got a few dark spots/discolouration. I've got hooded eyes, as well. My goal is to find the correct shade of foundation & concealer for my skin, I've got warm undertones. I've worn foundation before, but someone else always applied it. My skin, thank God; was flawless(not bragging, worked hard to attain such healthy skin). Now that I'm a mature woman & post-menopausal; my skin has gone through a change. I can't complain, because I'm aging quite well; thank you:). Makeup that lasts for 8hrs +, is truly AWESOME!!! That Anti-shine powder that you use is 'gold', it's such a 'gem' to have in your makeup arsenal. Hurricane appears to be more handsome every time I see him, sweet puppy. I love that concealer. Not as drying as some. So here’s my tip: try a damp beauty blending sponge next time. Ecotools makes a great one. I used to use those round sponges but I found they soaked up too much foundation. And you look gorgeous, as always!

Great video and you look fabulous! I agree with a previous poster about the round sponges- try a Beauty Blender ( Sephora has them) Run under water, then wring out as much as possible , then squeeze more with a towel and apply like you did, in sections- stops it from going cakey ... you can build it up if needed..and you are right not to bring it up in the eye area..it is a dryer foundation so yes, a primer is key, or even a bit of moisturizer mixed in. It's great for long lasting wear but I now want a glow and thinner foundation, especially for Summer. EL has a new foundation out now with a SPF 45 called Futurist Hydra Rescue mosturizing makeup that's quite nice and protective too!

I am really fair skinned so my color is Sand 1W2 so you could go one shade lighter than that one if you want. the coverage is incredible and I would suggest you get the concealer too if you want to hide some age spots. Used Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation for years, put it on early in the morning and it lasts all day and all night for me, now that I'm retired I thought I'd try another kind because they don't sell it in our local drugstore but watching this video I think I will go back to wearing it. Hi Diane, I'm actually from Canada and know the Lise Watier products. However, most of my viewers are from the States. I am now using the Sheisido Syncro Glowing foundation in Rose which is quite lovely. it still covers but is not as matte as the Double Wear. (which if you like Matte is still a great choice)

The key is to match your foundation to your skin colour and then contour and add blush. |I would suggest going to a local department store & getting a free makeover from one of your favourite cosmetics brands. There are also powder foundations in a compact that you should try too. If I want just a light foundation I use the powdered rather than the liquid. You can then choose what consistency is right for you. (You may need to go 2 days to get this done)

I find that putting on too much powder makes my skin look cakey and the wrinkles show much more. i love the Revlon Antishine product to put over the shiney spots which is available under the makeup section on my Amazon Influencer page. Just go to Amazon.com/shop/awesomeover50 I hope this helps.

You look great in your videos and the make up looks natural and fabulous........I’m wondering if you would look even better with your hair up and/or back off your face or worn shorter. Many older women are wearing long hair these days and I think that longer hair pulls a face down on the sides....perhaps you would do video experiment with hair styles for us older women?

Always use your concealer after foundation, that way you don't rub any off with the foundation and you use less because the foundation covers alot to begin with. That way your concealer lasts longer as well.

If you are using a lighter concealer (as I do) under your eyes (and you don't want to buy 2 shades of concealer) there will be a noticeable difference if you put it on top of your foundation. Hope this helps Mary.

All the new gadgets, brushes, and things are things we never had. I apply the foundation with a beauty blender. I also use the estee lauder powder with my foundation, if you purchase at macys they have a set for 65 it is totally worth it

Thanks for sharing Christi. I'm going to have to try the beauty blender again. I guess practice makes perfect. When I apply powder it seems to dry out my face and make my wrinkles look enhanced. Is this powder different? (that's why I like the Revlon Anti-Shine cream)

For Fall I'm just using Maybelline City Bronzer in #200 for my blush. It's really inexpensive and I could probably find a more expensive brand that could apply better but so far I've been using it for my Fall makeup and I like it. Any drugstore should have it and it should work well with your hair and eyes. Hope this helps Laurie!
