So I have been doing translucent powder before applying my foundation for years. No flashback issues. I use way less foundation and my skin has a flawless look all day. The trick (for me) has been using a fine powder that is close to my skin tone. Absolutely not something white... Unless that's your tone 😉. I promise you, if you can find the right tone for the powder, this hack is well worth it. 👍🏽👍🏽 #WeAreAll👸🏽

Same effect u get from spraying setting spray on before your foundation ....ultimately the key to flawless make up is good skin once u get past knowing how to apply it and what works for you
@aaronwalker27657 жыл бұрын
chi chichi for flawless you need full coverage aswell as skincare as medium and light coverage won't do a thing for flawless bases unless you have perfect airbrushed skin with zero imperfections which will never happen no matter how hard you try as everyone's face has imperfections and always will
@chichichi4347 жыл бұрын
Aaron Walker what I meant by "flawless" is not having any raised blemishes or scabs ...things like large pores and dents in skin can be filled in and concealed with good primers and moisturizers
@aaronwalker27657 жыл бұрын
chi chichi make up can't erase raised blemishes it can only correct redness and as someone with terrible raised breakouts who uses all high end luxury brands no amount of make up can change that fact unless you use a photo editor to smooth out the skin for flawless none raised blemishes you need a acne skin care routine not make up as no make up can erase texture or bumps and all these beauty gurus use filters when filming their videos which is a proven fact

Love this hack on oily skin. Your skin look flawless and not greasy at all. Great for the bride with oily skin, just touch up with powder to be picture perfect.
@Hlbb47 жыл бұрын
Hey Raye, here are some constructive criticisms to your technique. 1) You're suppose to apply primer first then set the primer with the powder. This adds an extra barrier to keep the oils in your face at bay as the day goes on, not to immediately soak the oil in your face, 2) You did apply too much, you don't bake, you set the powder like you would your foundation after 3) After your foundation and concealer is applied you set your face again to add the normal powder barrier for your oils 4) I think it was just the powder that caused flashback cause this technique doesn't cause me flashback. I think you should try it again using these steps and your results will be better. Love you xoxo
@alexiz00137 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Even though she didn't recommend it here, most of the people I've seen do this used Laura Mercier (setting their primer with it as you said, either with a brush or a beauty blender) and have loved it. No flashback. So I hope she sees these comments and tries this technique again for herself to see if she likes it better with a different powder and if there's no flashback

I dont think the flashback was from the translucent powder. Heres why: Because in the photo, your WHOLE face had flashback, and in places where you didnt even apply the translucent powder. If it was from the powder, you would have received flashback only in areas of your face where the powder was applied. It could be from another product, sometimes setting sprays can also give flashback in pictures & photography.

Even tho she applied the powder in certain areas, blending it with the liquid caused it to transfer. Using normal foundation on TOP of the translucent powder before applying foundation minimizes the white face. I learned that from a drag queen. 😉
@luna_is_bi_and_non-bi7 жыл бұрын
Missy Smith what do you mean? She didn’t mix any powder in with the foundation she said that it recommended she did that but she didn’t. All she did was put the powder on her face and then put foundation over it. I also don’t think it was the powered that caused the flashback because her forehead was not white at all and she put a good amount of power on her forehead. That’s just my observation. Maybe I misunderstood your comment.

Maybe its that certain powder that gives flashback? I wonder would it even give flashback with airspun or Laura Mercia!?
@daisyr64917 жыл бұрын
SlayedByYonnas i've seen in a video that supposedly powders that have "silica" regardless create flashback👀
@kellyleung13327 жыл бұрын
childish bambino I use that LM powder and I gives me flash back:(
@SarahMelissa7 жыл бұрын
daisy r I've read that silica powders need to be applied and pressed in with a damp sponge to lessen flashback. I wonder if it was something else cause her WHOLE face had a white cast and she only put the powder on her tzone and chin.🤔 even if her phone camera setting was on auto, I think the white balance was maybe thrown off by a "dark" background(being in the dark) I hope all that makes sense lol
@freakyeah957 жыл бұрын
Definitely was the powder! I do this technique with RCMA no color powder on myself and my deeper skin clients and no one ever has flashback.
@ChocolateCookii7 жыл бұрын
oh and make sure you use a damp sponge
@Marie-of7nk7 жыл бұрын
Hey, the first ingredient in this powder is Silica, that's what causes flashback - same as with the MUFE HD powder.
@aaronwalker27657 жыл бұрын
Marie first ingredient in powder products is actually talc not silica which talc also causes flash back so either way you can't escape a little flashback
@Marie-of7nk7 жыл бұрын
Thought you were right but here's the ingredients list : Silica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica [Nano] / Silica, Isoceteth-10, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate. [+/- (May Contain/Peut contenir): CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides, CI 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, CI 77007 / Ultramarines, CI 77742 / Manganese Violet, Mica, CI 77163 / Bismuth Oxychloride ]. The MUFE one even used to be made of silica only.

Leonor Suescun It's so sad that when someone actually makes progress in their skin someone will call it a filter but if they see someone with a bad acne scars they will say that it's real. One thing I'm not going to allow someone to discredit my hard work that I've put into my skin. I've been struggling with acne for seven years and now I finally cleared my skin only for it to be called a filter. Smh.
@ItsMyRayeRaye7 жыл бұрын
nikkipoo619 hey love! Thank you! I'm on differin and I also started using 20% azelaic acid. I use both at the same time. Differin helps with acne, inflammation, and drastically improves the texture of your skin (tightens and smooths). A lot of my subscribers who have begun using it love it! As for the azelaic acid, I would be careful with this one because there are many people who break out from this product but I didn't have that reaction. Be careful! ❤
@nikkipoo6197 жыл бұрын
ItsMyRayeRaye thank you for replying!!! ❤😘😘 I've recently started working on my skin care, nothing too fancy mostly focusing on my oiliness, but I really really need something for texture and pores. I'll definitely look into the differin. Thanks so much, and don't worry I certainly see an improvement. I'd be so proud to see my skin start to get better and no one can tell me that I didn't work hard for that! Some people just always wanna be negative. 😒 Love you ❤

DRY SKIN: still works!☺️. I have dry skin & looks great! I saw it on a short on KZbin a few weeks ago. OMG amazing. I’ve had a lot of ppl compliment my makeup. IMPORTANT: hack I learned is THIN layer of powder, then prime on top. For dry skin, use a hydrating primer . I use “Georgio Arman luminous silk.” I tried hack on 1/2 of my face, & not on the other 1/2, big difference! I also used Laura merciier powder & drug store, both worked great.

Anna Baker buy talc free baby powder. Solved. Most don't have talc anymore anyway. Also, unless you're slathering pure talc that naturally contains asbestos all over your lady parts, the chances are pretty damn low of developing any sort of ovarian cancer (which is the only one it's *very* loosely linked to.)

So I tried this and it works really well! I have a dry face and it works well with dry faces, it looks way less Cakey and more natural. I did half my face where you put the foundation on first and the other side where you put the powder on first and it feels less heavy as well. But I advise to clean your face then put lotion on first. Let the lotion sit then start so your face isn’t flakey!
