You also have to set the phone language to English (US), as well as the Siri language, we don’t all live in America. You don’t need to hold the side button for the Siri lights, just say the magic word. I think it’s a great tool, and it is in Beta development so more improvement to come.

You should redo your review without holding down the side button. It's obvious that Siri is confused when you keep pressing and holding down the side button. I was able to ask the same commands properly when not holding down the button. You only need to press the button and Siri will be listening as shown by the flashing light. Also when the light is flashing you should ask your question and not continue talking randomly and then ask your question. It was frustrating watching you talk to your audience with the light flashing (Siri listening) and then stopping to ask Siri a question. Of course Siri couldn't understand your question as it was wrapped in all your talk. I guess we all have to learn how to properly use this feature. I think ChatGPT is further along in a more natural conversational interaction but knowing Apple I'm sure they will get this right in the end. Nice video tour of the new features. Hahaha your interaction with Siri is EXACTLY my current experience with Siri! But, I’m looking forward to the on-device contextual AI and other upgrades that are going to come to Siri in the coming months. Google Assistant is currently way better than Siri, but I believe the contextual AI with Siri will eventually make it more powerful than Google Assistant. Especially because Google’s AI approach with Gemini is online instead of on device and therefore has limits to what it can do contextually.

hey so apple said siri isn't finished. I believe the GPT integration and new voice model arent coming in the initial apple intelligence update. This makes sense because everything you showed regarding the voice itself is exactly how siri works right now. This is a beta anyway. OpenAI has been extremely slow with their own advanced voice so be patient with apple here (idk why they partnered if OpenAI clearly wasnt up to the task)

So far, it's only a marginal improvement. It still needs to be more interactive when asked questions. It will give you answers on the screen and not converse with you. I am using Beta on iPad.

As someone who works in the industry and has followed both closely since inception I can tell you, Apple works on changes and drops them when they work flawlessly. Android/Samsung just slams any new concept in whether it works fully or not. Apple is always “behind” until they drop their version and become the only truly working version of whatever their concept they are implementing despite Android having the advantage of treating its millions of users like beta testers.

The worse thing to do in my opinion is to do a review of a beta version of iOS, especially since AI is being introduced for the first time. An explanation maybe but showing the flaws in a beta version seems counter productive, because it’s beta.

Wow this is a joke. I was so excited to upgrade so that I could get a SIRI that can do so much more while I am driving (I sell real estate and always getting requests when I am driving). I am doubtful that it can successfully handle dictation for texts even.??? I wanted to do more while I can focus on the road. It is not ready for prime time for sure. Hopefully it is just the beta mode and they will improve it. Great video.

Two things: 1. This is a Beta which means Apple is still working out the details for Siri/Apple AI to work and correspond more accurately. 2. He initially stated that he's had his iPhone for 15 years and was not a big fan of Siri. He continued to say, "Umm can you do this?" or "Can you um...?" lastly "Umm... can you like open..." His communication with Siri was HUMAN ERROR. Dope video though. How about asking Siri questions pertaining to pop culture or history, this will show us the full capabilities of Siri/Apple AI.

I understand why a lot of people saying that Siri is dumb or prity useless….i currently have an iPhone 14 but I do use Siri every day and find it quite useful whilst I’m working(I drive a taxi). I get the guy in the vid says he never really uses it but others may use it a lot I use it for setting destinations(usually works but sometimes I do have to type it in) making calls and txts whilst I’m driving and then obviously the alarms and timers for stuff just in general use. Personally I’m looking forward to seeing the fully released version of Apple ai before I decide if it’s worth an upgrade yet or not

This is still a Beta. I've been using it for the past couple of weeks and while I have noticed some improvement in specific areas, it's still pretty similar to before. Note that this isn't Siri 2.0. That is coming in iOS 18.2. Also that bug where it appears to be listening but doesn't respond is so annoying lol. They better have that fixed before the official release.
