Thank you for recognizing and saying it loud. The rap line are always being compared to others who always do hard type of rapping( sorry I’m not that expert on rapping) but the rap line in EXO songs are complements of the genre they’re singing. It will be unusual if they’re rapping to a song that is not hip hop....this most don’t understand... Watching someone who truly appreciate them and felt bad that they’re not recognized appeased me...also Chen’s album is truly a gem but some don’t like to share in shouting it but many are really supporting it. When I first learned that SuperM's MV drops on Oct 1 then Chen's on Oct 4, my biggest fear was, will Chen's album be overshadowed? I'm guessing that's what happened. This version of EXO's "Growl" is a one take video, which means that it was shot all in one take without any cuts or edits. However, although it is a one take video, this does not mean they used the very first take, it just means that every time anyone made a mistake they had to start all over again from the very beginning. They had to dance this choreography about 7 times and this was the take the director and producer decided to use. They actually danced this choreography until they physically could not do it any more. But, if you know what you are looking for, you will see that not even this take was technically "perfect" because, if you notice, Kai drops the hat in the middle of the dance and he smoothly bends down and picks it up. He needed the hat at the end. But because it was done so effortlessly that most people don't even notice the mistake, or assume its just part of the choreography, they decided to use this footage anyway. In the beginning of the MV you start out by seeing the 6 EX0-K members and as the camera spins around you see the 6 EXO-M members. During this time there were 12 members in EXO and you see all 12 member in this MV. You are watching the EXO-K version of the song so you see the EXO-K members featured first. If you watch the EXO-M version you will see the EXO-M members featured more prominently. When EXO debuted they had 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups. EXO-K, which sang their songs in Korean and promoted in Korea, and EXO-M, which sang those same songs in Mandarin Chinese and promoted in China. EXO-K was made up of 6 Korean members (Suho, Baekhyun, D.O, Chanyeol Kai, and Sehun); and EXO- M was made up of 4 Chinese members (Kris, Luhan, Tao and Lay) and 2 Korean members (Xiumin and Chen -- as you can see Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) and Chen (Kim JongDae) were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in with the Chinese group.) However, in 2014 Kris and Luhan left the group and Tao left in 2015. So, as you know, now EXO has 9 members. However, what is even more impressive is the fact that they also filmed a Mandarin version of this song and MV, so not only did they have to perfect the dance in the Korean version, but they also had to do it again in the Mandarin version. And the Mandarin version isn't exactly the same, because the EXO-M and EXO-K members had different parts in each of the MVs, so that just adds another element to this. You should also check out the Mandarin version to see the differences. All of EXO's MVs have both a Korean and a Mandarin version and each of the MVs are slightly different. So its worth checking out both versions. Plus, this will give you a chance to hear what the songs sound like in both Korean and Mandarin. EXO actually filmed 5 or 6 different MVs for the song "Growl." As you probably noticed when you searched for this video, they have a Korean performance version, which is the version you watched; an EXO-M Mandarin Chinese version; an EXO-K 2nd version and an EXO-M 2nd version, which are more like traditional MVs with a little more of a storyline; and they also have a drama version that combines their two songs "Growl" and "Wolf" and its like a mini K-drama that is more like a movie or TV show with a complete story and the members playing characters. Plus, there are several iconic live performances of "Growl" as well. You need to look up the lyrics to Growl to really understand the song, but pretty much they are saying "Girl stop tempting me, you are so sexy and beautiful that you make me want to Growl." You are mine." "Girl you take my breath away and make it so I can't control myself." "When you are near, all I can see is you." etc. It's kind of about love at first sight. EXO got so good at this choreography that they were able to perform the whole thing live on award shows and music programs just like they did in the MV. You're right it's sad that any government has the ability to tell anyone where they can and can't work and who they are able to work with, just because the two government powers can't see eye to eye. But until the U.S. and South Korea can find a way to end the tensions, it looks like SM's native mainland Chinese Idols won't be able to work with their Korean groups any time soon. We are just lucky we live in the U.S. where we have the freedom to make our own choices and decisions Lay is one of the most famous celebrities in China right now, so everyone wants to work with him. He owns his own record label/studio in China and he produces his own music, as well as music for other artists. Plus, he is, or was, a youth ambassador to China appointed by the government, which means he has a lot of obligations in China. He is considered China's national producer. He is also an actor and he is a spokesperson for a lot of Chinese products and causes -- he is the EXO member with the most endorsement deals. He is also a host of reality programs and is appearing on numerous variety shows in China, so this all keeps him very busy. He is one of the most sought after celebrities in China so he spends a lot of time living in China and away from the other EXO members. Because of his super busy schedule and because of some issues between the Chinese and Korean government, Lay has not been a part of EXO activities for more than 3 years now, other than his cameo appearance in. the "Tempo" MV and his brief vocal part in the Mandarin version of "Tempo" MV and song. His hiatus from EXO is not something he has chosen, but its something that has sort of been forced upon him by the government. So he has recently been working hard to find ways around those restrictions, which explains one reason why he has been releasing so many English songs lately. By producing songs in English for the U.S. market it allows him and SM to do collaboration projects which give him a chance to keep his connection to EXO, without actually breaking any rules, and it allows SM to connect the stories in his MVs to EXO's storyline. Now I am no where near an expert on the topic, and I admit that I only understand a very minor part of what is going on between the Chinese and Korean government, but as I understand it, part of the reason for the ban on Chinese and Korean workers between the two countries is that China is refusing to align itself with the U.S. or South Korea to protect themselves with deployment of the THAAD missile defense system in South Korea. North Korea and China want to get rid of the rocket system that is meant to shoot down a nuclear missile if North Korea were to launch one at South Korea or the U.S. Another reason why China doesn't like the THAAD system is because China and the U.S. don't have the best relationship, so if the U.S. and China become on even worse terms China is afraid the U.S. could also use THAAD against them. China says the THAAD system is just provoking them to actually start a nuclear war, and until they remove it or at least move it back from the South Korean boarder, they will continue their ban on Korean products, workers and the Hallyu wave from working in China and for its native Chinese citizens from working with Korean companies. China feels like the Korean government is taking away its native commodities by allowing Chinese people to work in Korea. The issue is even more complicated than this, but that is one part of it. And now, with the recent conflict with the Chinese government and Hong Kong, more political tension has continued to make it difficult for our Chinese Idols to work with their Korean companies and groups. With many Chinese Idols recently coming out in support of the Chinese government and publicly supporting "One China," this has made it once again even less likely that Lay will be able to work with EXO in the near future. With Lay's deep ties to the Chinese government and with the fact that he is one of the most popular celebrities in China right now, he can't afford to be blacklisted by the Chinese government. He needs to be able to work and live in China as freely as possible. So, regardless of how he might feel politically on a personal level, he has to come out in support of the Chinese government publicly, which puts him at odds with many other counties views on the subject. With pressure from the Chinese government, it may have been difficult for him to stay neutral, or at least not make his opinion public, so unfortunately he is now receiving some backlash from people outside of mainland China. But no matter what, Lay always makes sure to find a way to show fans that he is, and will always be, a member of EXO -- he is always supporting his EXO brothers even from afar. Most recently we were able to see Lay back together with the rest of EXO when Lay came to Korea to be there for the day that D.O. enlisted in the military. And in most of Lay's solo work we have nods to EXO and how the stories in his solo MVs are connected to EXO's storyline. He always works hard to remind everyone how important EXO and EXO-Ls are to him. Lay is known as one of the hardest working artist in the industry because he is such a perfectionist and he pretty much does it all himself.When it comes to his solo work Lay is known for writing and composing the songs (including the rap sections), as well as producing them and he takes a large part in coming up with the choreography and producing the MVs as well. When it comes to his solo work, he pretty much has a hand in all aspects of every part of every project, there is pretty much nothing he can't do. I think people misunderstand Lay (Zhang Yixing) sometimes when they first see him because he often comes off as kind of aloof and standoffish and super serious, but what more people need to understand is that, if you get to know him, you will soon find it's because he is very dedicated and committed to what he does and he always wants to show his best self at all times. In reality he is kind of shy and doesn't like to have a lot of attention on himself. When you hear Lay's song "Sheep" you will discover that he is our "China Sheep -- the lead sheep in China." So he has two sides to him and that's what makes him a sheep -- soft, kind and cute, and powerful and dedicated. He is an all around personality that really is the whole package. 🤩 And he is one of the kindest, nicest, sweetest, hardest working people you will ever meet, and all he wants to do is take care of people. 😍 And this is also why Lay's EXO superpower, being the ability to heal everything, is perfect because it fits his personality well.

Yes, SM artists are the best vocals and performers at the same time. That’s the reason I stand SM artists as I watched almost KPop artists performances in front of my eyes in the music show. Actually, all music show in Korea are free but you just need to wait for time like 12 hours. Haha Anyways, it’s worth to do it as it’s really awesome. I think a lot of people are not into that ballad-type genre which is sad cause like I said Chen puts out such beautiful albums! They’re definitely missing out! Chanyeol and Sehun’s rap breaks are some of my fave parts of their songs. Their delivery and flow is so good and they complement the vocal line so well.
