Arthur was known as Fiddler goodwill. When I worked in a yard, my first year I wasn't paid. It was called an apprenticeship.

Can’t believe you didn’t get paid, I was an apprentice at H cotrills and we got 10 shillings a week and keep, I believe S Armstrong we’re also paid the same they were prod 5 bob on Friday and the same on a Monday, plus we had a 25 pounds a year clothing allowance

Amazing to think Lester was once an apprentice , thirty shillings a week I m glad it s gone up .
