Professionals just don't appreciate helpers and apprentices. They do the hard work for you. And you want to jip them a half hour for being 5 minutes late?😂 You sound as cheap as my supervisor and PM. What would yalls old asses do without them?... Stroke out?😂😂😂

If your like my old boss, I show up 10 minutes early I better get paid for that. That's 50 minutes a week 43 1\3 hours free for a year. If your not gonna pay me till 8 I'm not gonna start till 8. My time is money not gonna say I'm not gonna bust my ass from 8 till whenever but I'm not here because I like you I'm here to work and do a job and get paid for it.

@@JacobLAChristenson Showing up early is just to prove your commitment. When you work for yourself you'll spend countless hours you dont get paid for. It's the nature of the beast. A boss should give incentive to those who show up early and work hard.

We just did a 2 story commercial building in Austin. There aren’t stairs yet. They do have a ladder built out of 2x4s and secured to a wall so it’s just as sturdy as any extension ladder. The inspector failed it and said he wouldn’t inspect it until the stairs are built. I understand that they don’t want to do anything dangerous but this temp ladder is as strong as any extension ladder and they’ll use those.

Some tests use 1 in WC of air I like those better you don't have to plug fixtures cause 1 inch is less than the depth of your traps. You can use smoke if you need to find a leak, and 1 inch WC is like 0.04 psi so no you won't lose a tooth if something ruptures.

Still trying to wrap my head around the "s" trapped drains. I know codes vary from location to location, but the basic principles of venting are universal. As an apprentice I have been taught to adhere to the codes of the current version of the UPC or the California plumbing code, only deviating from that standard when the local jurisdiction or either of the prior mentioned are MORE stringent. As an example San Fransisco plumbing code is much more strict than the UPC and even though I do not work there, I work in the neighboring county, my employer and teacher did for the majority of his entire career, and tends to hold me to that standard or at least make mention of it when I'm applying my knowledge of the UPC. My point is to be the best, and I am in no way shape or form suggesting I am, you need to work with the best or at least work to the same standard. It frustrates me, and this is not specifically directed at you, when people post videos of work which would not cut it many areas, or doesn't demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of plumbing, and when questioned about it use the low local standards of there location as a defense. Plumbers get should top dollar for retaining a vast amount of information and knowing how and when to apply it, in less than desirable or down right disturbing situations, even if that means making costly modifications to structure or deviating from architects' and designers' or homeowners dreams, not seeking loopholes and the lowest common denominator just to "get it done" on some arbitrary timeline or budget. The lack of professionalism shown by trades adhering to low standards, being lazy or careless, or even tampering with work, as is in your case, is an embarrassment to the craft.
@ChuckBarron
@ChuckBarron 6 жыл бұрын
not sure what you are referring to. In this vid? or in general?
@kylefogle6022
@kylefogle6022 6 жыл бұрын
@@ChuckBarron Sorry about the long rant. The "s" traps I'm referring to are seen in this video in the kitchen and master bath where the trap arm has an offset an the end. In the kitchen there appears to be a 90 vertical with possibly a street 90 horizontal? at the end of the trap arm. The master bath has something similar but wth a wye, 90 configuration. It's kind of difficult to make out from the quick glances on camera, but the trap arms do appear to have offsets in elevation which would qualify as an "s" trap.
