Measurements are demonstrated step-by-step to the full range of the instrument. Pilot hole size measurement is taken during the demo as well as measuring a hex bolt head for finding the right size of wrench.

Apprenticemath, thanks for the explination of the operation and reading dial fraction/decimal calipers. I am beginning my woodworking "hobby" so I want to make the best keep-sake boxes, nik-naks, etc. for my family and myself. Your instruction will help me keep my creations from looking odd and functioning poorly.

Nice explanation but wouldn't it be easier to just count the 64ths and reduce from there instead of reading g the 8ths and adding the 64ths? In my opinion it would be easier to teach someone that way. But we all know what opinions are like LOL. Anyway thanks for the info, it helped alot!

It could be done either way, whichever makes the most sense will work best for you.

Thanks for sharing, I wish you fun times. I hear from master cabinetmakers and builders that they scribe things to fit. (Real measurement but without numerical value)

good video but.. is no metric vs imperial measure! .. is like say hot vs cold.. or jungle vs tundra.. you used as you need it.. or at the country were you live.
