Hi Captain! First of All: I gotta agree with every Comment that has been made about how incredible this video is! I remember suggesting this in a previous video of yours, and oh boy, i didn‘t imagine it will turn out this great. You basically surpassed all expectations one could ever have when it comes to youtube aviation videos. I appreciate your dedication so much, i had such a big smile on my face this morning when i saw the video in my feed. Also huge props to your FO, he did a great job explaining and narrating. Huge thanks also to your company to allow this! You all together made a comunity very happy today! Thank you so much ans safe travels. P.S.: Ich könnte das wirklich im Dauer Loop schaun :D

I read the comments and suggestions and try to improve the future videos whenever possible. I also like this video very much: I never worked longer in tne postproduction on a single video. Your good feedback and the good feedback of many other viewers confirm that it was worth spending the time. The video finally had a few small technical issues which I am aware of, but couldn’t be removed without recalculating and reuploading this huge 63 gigabyte video again. Have a wonderful day!

@ApproachandDepartureVideosАй бұрын
@@TheTexian85 Gute Frage!

This was a real treat! The briefings, including all the crew in your footage from cabin crew to dispatchers, fuelling staff, baggage handlers - you really showed us a full day in the life, I think it’s fantastic that you made the effort to include as many other people as you did. This video shows perfectly that aviation is a team operation. It was fantastic of the First Officer to talk through what he was doing while setting up for the next flight. Having the cameras focused where they were was excellent. As was getting to see the walk around. As always, beautiful approaches and departures! I started following this channel because I’m an aviation geek, I enjoy getting to see landings and departures from the cockpit. Things have now expanded to include briefings and even more behind the scenes footage - it’s fantastic. It’s so nice to see someone passionate about their job who wants to share that joy. Thank you Captain, for taking the time and effort to record, edit and share this. And thank you to the whole team that took part. This would be an excellent thing to show young people who are interested in a career in aviation. 🇩🇪🛫🌍🛬🇬🇷🛫🌍🛬🇩🇪🧑🏻✈️

Hello! This is very good content! However, as a private pilot I have two questions regarding the end of the video: You switched to STD pressure (approx. 2:32:25) at 7500 ft although the transition level was reported on the ATIS to be at 85 (approx. 1:45:35). What's this intentional, if so, why? Secondly you departed VFR, but the pilot flying isn't spending much time looking out. This might be due nervousness of being observed by thousands of people, or is there possibly another reason which I don't understand? Thank you very much for the interesting content!

Dear Mr. Buntenbach, its one of my very rare comments on a video, but some things have to be said: first of all a big "thank you" for your wonderfull videos which give such a deep look into airline aviation, procedures and beside of that respectfull team leading from your side as an airline captain. If those videos would have existed 20 years ago, i bet i would have fullfilled my secret dream to become a commercial pilot - or at least i would have tried to accomplish that. I choosed another profession, but never lost contact to aviation as a hobby. This exceptional video made me a supporter the first time ever on youtube. The small fee is way worth the joy i have while watching your videos. To say it with your words: "That makes sense to me." Weiterhin guten Flug und nochmals vielen Dank!

First of all, I would like to thank you very much for joining the channel as a member! The financial support of the members is very important and makes videos like this one possible! I got offers from sponsors, but I turned them down because I think it would not be serious for me to talk about refrigerated meals or electric bicycles in the middle of my videos. Also, thank you very much for your very kind words! It is great to hear that you like this video and also my other videos! It looks like that the general idea behind the channel works well: I would like to show what happens behind the closed doors in the cockpit or in our flight preparation rooms. The impression shall be like that the viewer is sitting together with us in the cockpit. As I started my flying career, it was still possible to visit the cockpit during the flights. Even during my first linecheck as First Officer on the Airbus, a passenger was sitting on the jumpseat during the approach to Naples. The passenger visited us during the flight and asked if she can stay until the landing. The Checkcaptain had no problems with her request and asked me if I would agree. Sure, I agreed. She thanked us very much for this once in a life opportunity. On other long flights, every aviation interested person was allowed for a few minutes into the cockpit. Because all this is due to the enhanced security not possible anymore, I started this channel as an alternative method to show what happens in the cockpit. Thanks again, Danke schön und alles Gute!

Great Video as always and especially nice touch from the FO to proceed on the landing light issue regarding fuel penalty. And as a passenger I assure you, I can tell when we reach 10.000 feet on appraoch on an A320. It's a very distinctive change of sound when the landing lights extend.
@ApproachandDepartureVideos3 ай бұрын
Great to hear that you like the video! The landing lights produce some little vibrations. Airbus changed the design to fixed lights for the NEO airplanes. They do not extend anymore.

Great video showing off some down-to-earth, ego-less professionalism, great teamwork and lots of amazing details. The setting up of all the fixes to provide guidance for the Samos approach was great to see, as was the approach itself - I'll have to give that one a go in MSFS 😉- and the discussions about the alternate airports for different scenarios on departure was fascinating. Thanks to Eurowings for allowing us to get this fantastic insight into cockpit operations. It must have taken a lot to put this video together, given all the camera angles and things like the checklist pop-ups. Loving your work!

Thank you for sharing your flights! I am a student pilot in Canada, currently stuck in bed with covid, so your videos are helping to keep me sane and as current as I can be! Fantastic video, I really liked being able to see the briefing with the crew before the flight. In Samos, the procedures for checking the exterior of the plane and understanding what they check. I also really liked the entry of the data into the on-board computer, fuel, flight plan...etc to Düsseldorf and being able to check the reason for said data. Very instructive. On the other hand, it was very interesting to see the forecast and introduction of data regarding the approach procedures to Samos. Fantastic visual approach to this complicated airport. It was very good to be able to see the entire crew, an essential part for us to travel comfortably and safely. Great work and great video. Saludso desde Tenerife

@@ApproachandDepartureVideos I have a question Captain, why do you avoid to enter Turkish border? I understand it's not necessary for this flight but do you have any specific reason for doing that. What happen if you enter the Turkish airspace for any reason (unless an emergency situation)
@ApproachandDepartureVideos4 ай бұрын
@@AhmetArslan-bu9eo The documents for Samos say clearly that we should not fly into Turkish airspace during approach or departure. My understanding is that Samos ATC has only authority over the Greek airspace. They cannot give us a clearance to fly into Turkish airspace during a standard approach. So we stay clear of it. This is no problem for us. I assume that we may get a fine or so if we would fly into the Turkish airspace without prior clearance as long as it is not an emergency situation. I also assume that Samos Tower may be able to coordinate a clearance to fly into the airspace with Turkish ATC, if we have to use the Turkish airspace due to weather or so.

Dear Mr. Butenbach. Thank you very much for this great video. I've now watched the entire video. Nice approach in Samos and the landing in EDDL was also very good. I always find it funny that the distinctive buildings find their way into the flight plans - like the glass house on Samos.

Another great video I've caught up on ... but the big question is, "Have you ever left your glasses behind in the plane?" !!
@ApproachandDepartureVideos29 күн бұрын
Thanks for your good feedback and your question! No, I never left the glasses in the plane. All my glasses are progressive glasses which had been made for me. This is also true for my sunglasses. Without the glasses, my vision is not that good. So one pair of glasses is always on my head and the other pair is in the bag which is standing on the left directly at my seat. I also have spare glasses in my flight bag.
