I boxed my Z8 up on Friday the 23rd of June and I just got it back yesterday the 12th of July. I kinda think that was a long time but I don't know. Have a good trip and I look forward to seeing your photos on returning...Thanks for sharing...Peace!

Thanks Hudson. I'm going to try the medium cube in my Tenba as we have the exact same set of lenses and Z9

Thanks for all your videos. Great info. My Z8 just came back 3 days ago. It was gone slightly under 2 weeks to the LA repair facility.

How do you pack your lens hoods in the backpack?

Have a great adventure. I have been there 6 times and it never disappoints. Friends just got back and big grizzlies on and off the trail near the Garden Wall Trail. Hoping to hear a Patagonia work shop or Iceland. Stay safe and safe travels.

My wife and I are going to Glacier in two weeks! My first time there, and first time in the Rockies north of Colorado. Wer're also doing Yellowstone and GT. I'm debating between taking my 20 f1.8g and 16-35 f4 with my Nikon D810 to cover the wide end. It's tempting to take both because this may be my only trip there ever but then having more lensew than I need can be a problem too.. Illl also have my 24-120 and Sigma 100-400.

I know it's probably a bad time but, could you do another setup video on the Z9 after the firmware update to 4.0? I really like the new setup for the Z8...that seems to work great so far for me. Or, maybe you did this Z9 4.0 setup video and I missed it. I really like the way you set things up...seems to work for me the best. I also am thinking about getting the new set of Kase filters...just waiting a minute till I get all my cameras set up properly. Thanks for everything you do for us all. Much appriciated...Peace!

Including weekends and a holiday, it was 12 days until I got my Z8 back from service. I think they actually had it inhouse for about 3 days. I hear the actual fix doesn't take very long, but they then go through the normal professional checklist to make certain everything is up to specs. Easy peasy! Especially since I still had my Z9 at home. 🙂

I love that 20mm 1.8 too. And I bought my wife the Q2 for her 65th birthday. She loves it but I’m not sure who loves it more. I’m pretty complete on my kit with the recent Z8 addition. Next lens, if at all, will be the 800 pf. But my ace in the hole is my Oly OM1 + 150-400mm 4.5 TC bird and wildlife combo. I don’t think any Nikon gear (or Sony or Canon or Fuji) can match it ….. yet. I’ve had no problem with my Z8 with multiple lenses so far. I’ll send it in at the end of the summer. Terrific camera.

I often use the same combo of the Z9 with a long lens and the Leica Q2.

What improvements have you made to wrapping the tripod legs since ATS #8.
@HudsonHenryPhoto Жыл бұрын
You can see my current builds at www.hudsonhenry.com/tripods Each build has its own video beyond the one on that page. We're constantly improving and tweaking them. We currently start with a hockey tape wrap technique from custom woodworkers below the cork wrap that creates a ledge to set the stone bag in the perfect position for each set of legs. We've also stopped overlapping the gaffe tape onto the carbon and now use a really cool silicone tape that stretches and permanently bonds only to itself to finish the wrap job onto the carbon completely covering the gaffe tape securing the ends. It's a durable clean finish.

Hello Hudson... I purchased the Vello wireless remote for my Z8 for your list, but would like to get a wireless remote for the Z6/7 and Z50. Recommendations..?
@HudsonHenryPhoto Жыл бұрын
Ya know, I still love the Foolography Unleashed for those cameras: bhpho.to/3sl8Hfl It's not cheap, but it's way more sophisticated than Nikon's truly overpriced alternative: bhpho.to/45GODSH I wish I had a better option. If you find one email me.

Thanks Henry..! I'm guessing there is a different wireless remote for the Z7II/6II..?

I ordered your full custom tripod setup last week and received it today. I like it so far, though I’ve only played around with it a bit and haven’t had a chance to shoot on it yet. I’m curious: you have what looks like colored tape at the top of each leg, in red, blue, and yellow. What do these color indicators mean to you? What kind of tape is it?

Hudson…..awesome video!!! Even better, watching you go through your gear and seeing your equipment choices matching up almost 💯 to my choices, as it has been a little bit of a challenge to figure out….is so cool! I’m still deciding on the 100-400 vs the 180-600. For landscape, do you have a recommendation between the two?

Z8 recall: I dropped mine off at UPS on 7/6, UPS tracking shows that I will receive it back tomorrow, 7/14. Note, there was no noticeable issue with the camera using the 24-120, 50/1.8, 100-400 or the FTZii adapter. Enjoy your trip. Looking forward to the images.

Ha, it's just colored gaffers tape. At this point when I run a workshop there are frequently 7 or 8 of my custom fluid head builds to put in the back of El Jefe (my workshop sprinter van). This helps me find mine. 🤣

At what Temperature or Dew Point do you recommend using a lense/dew warmer or dryer? PS Enjoy your show.
@HudsonHenryPhoto Жыл бұрын
On long night shoots, even in the desert, I use the warmer. No particular triggering number for me, I just use it when I can't afford a problem with condensation.

The only way you could get all that gear to Glacier would be in a car. But what if you had to fly there commercially? What would you take then?
