I always appreciate your commentary on Boruto’s story. I personally find Naruto’s character more relatable to my own life and process, but I do find Boruto interesting for many of the reasons you describe. Being older definitely makes the whole thing different when it comes to stories. People can be really attached to the most random things in this manga. Boruto has it's flaws just like any other show but story and lore ain't one of them. This show has the most intruiging and keeping edge of the seat lore which keeps the reader engaged and asking questions making theories on "what will happen next", "What will lead to that conclusion", which most of shonens these days don't. You read/watch them, get hyped up about fights and then you turn it off and never think about it again. Never been the same after reading a boruto chapter. I can't believe i would have missed this storytelling just cuz the internet chose to clown on it.

Feel like to add to your point about the relatability, Boruto deals with some very deep topics especially with Kawaki and the children that were experimented on. Seeing the trafficking and hardships in contrast to Boruto living a normal life is so interesting, even more so if we find now that Boruto through the adversity surpasses Kawaki

That’s how Kawaki will lose. Boruto values himself as being a skilled ninja without Karma. Kawaki NEEDS his Karma to compete with Boruto. From these chapters, Boruto hasn’t activated his Karma one time to deal with anything including Code and the Shinju. Kawaki will lose to Boruto simply because he’s not as skilled. Unless we get another timeskip where Kawaki sees the value of being a skilled ninja.

Another thing about the Boruto commentary (great points you made btw) is that if you imagine there was a series ending in hiruzen becoming hokage, then the beginning of Naruto is exactly parallel to Boruto!!! Hiruzen would be Naruto and orochimaru would be isshiki. The more you think about it the more it seems all the same AND ITS ALL ON PURPOSE. People who don’t like Boruto are the same people who would hate Gohan as the MC in DBZ, which is crazy to me. What story could Boruto have if Naruto eliminated all possible stakes? We’ve seen what happens whenever there’s a character stronger than the MC in so many other anime (JJK, MHA, Bleach, Black Clover, etc.). Eventually the MC has to be the MC.

Each Shinju wanna eat someone close to the person trapped in the trees. Jura being the shinju of Isshiki or Jigen doesn't make much sense. since He wants to eat Naruto. My bet is Jura is the shinju of Kawaki. Remember in ch. 2, one shinju monster, that was stated to be more evolved than the others by Ino-Shika-Cho and Himawari, grabed kawaki by the neck and suddenly was able to talk, saying "otsutsuki". Since each shinju has a rinnegan, that shinju probably drained some of kawaki's chakra, which led to Jura's consciousness birth.

@@devin3955 I explained it in my comment. The trees don't kill people, they only suck in their chakra. And we know that chakra can bear emotions and memories. Remember when Obito (or Madara, don't remember) used Ginkaku and Kinkaku who had a tiny portion of Kurama's chakra and a single tentacle of the Eight tails and it was enough to wake up juubi even though The 8 and 9 tails weren't sealed in the geto statue ? I think it is the same kind of thing here. Only sucking in a small amount of chakra might be enough to create a Shinju. And as I said, Kawaki was grabed by a claw monster who had a rinnegan, which can suck chakra in. On top of that, chapter 6 and Boruto's explaination shows us that the ten tails began to evolve because of Otsutsuki dna being mixed with it's own by Code. Thus we can assume that Otsutsuki's chakra has a different effect on the claw monsters than human chakra and maybe there is no need to turn them into a tree to create a shinju.

Goated reaction as always, and it's crazy because Naruto and Sasuke are even stronger than they were in Shippuden, and they carried every major fight in Boruto Naruto Next Generations. It took 6 people to beat Kaguya. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Obito, and a little bit of help from Hagaromo. Kaguya was afraid of Momoshiki and Kinshiki, and yet Naruto and Sasuke did 99% of the work against fused Momoshiki while handicapped since they couldn't use all their justu. The fact that they managed to survive and beat Isshiki, who was even stronger while also having perfect counters to their entire skillset and wasn't arrogant, is insane. Anyone who thinks they were nerfed in Boruto are truly delusional.

The reason we say they nerfed our fav characters ain’t bc the enemy is stronger . And we can’t accept that, it’s the fact that they don’t even bother to allow sasuke, and naruto both use their full utility belt . For example, sasuke is more then capable to use other abilities of the rinnegan then just as a personal Uber . That’s just a few examples imo. Just so many things in boruto writing that just negates everything the manga of naruto gave us . The way the writers are forced to write the story a very specific way for our 2 fav characters to inevitably forced to get nerfed . Aka, kurama/sasuke eye. Tbh,those abilities wouldn’t even phase someone like Isshiki,he’s the strongest character in the verse (besides Shibai). Also it’s bc Naruto and Sasuke main arsenal is Ninjutsu,and jigen/Isshiki can easily absorb/shrink them instantly,which leads them to Taijutsu only,which jigen/Isshiki outclasses them in. (Also genjutsu doesn’t even work due to the Otsutsuki complete chakra control). Also remember when six tails Naruto (a weaker version compared to Isshiki) was able to tank almighty push,so by isshiki being 100x stronger than six tails Naruto,id think almighty push would even work 😂

I think the problem is that people say that it doesn't make sense/it makes Boruto's writing bad when it literally doesn't. Boruto was out, Momo took over his body and sneak attacked a relaxed sasuke. It’s not like they were fighting straight up and he let him hit him.
