What I love about Kafka is how he celebrates what others would consider "small, miniscule gains." It's a concept many fail to learn; celebrate every win, every success. There's no such thing at a "small" success. Anything you put your blood, sweat, tears, and wholehearted commitment to that yields results is a huge win! ☝🏾

I'm really enjoying Kaiju NO. 8! Kafka is already just a loveable MC that people can relate to and the pacing has been really good to like there wasn't a moment where I felt like it was boring or a waste of time like we had the training montage with dope OST in the background. Oh and I LOVE how all the young officers are respecthing Kafka and not making fun of him being old or weak.They respecting him to trying so hard to fit in with the rest.

Yeah also feel like the humor help with the pacing in between the action. This is over of the few animes where I don't find the humor corny/cringe/forced

i have to say 10:55 - 11:14 is the best training montage i've seen in an anime. it manages to show so much stuff effectively: the struggle, the bonding, the humor, at the same time it's also an implicit showcase of each's character trait.

Kikoru and Kafka are so great as pho-siblings lol. Him chasing her asking to be praised for his 1% was pure comedy. He's such a likeable character because he's really an "everyman" so he's crazy relatable. Oh also Mina almost using Kafka's first name when responding to him and then smiling was freaking great. Can't wait for them two to start being friends again. The VC giving the second death flag at the end for someone in the dorm was not a good sign for the upcoming episode(s). That being said, damn I love this show so far lol. Had a comment asking to describe the show because they wondered if it was like Godzilla and I don't really know how to respond to that lmao. I feel like there's a tragic backstory for the VC too for him to say that to Kafka about not getting too close to the rest of the group.

As a manga reader, it’s interesting to see what they choose to flesh out fir the anime and what things they don’t provide as much explanation for. Since the pacing is handled so differently between the media, even though I know what’s coming next in the storyline, I still don’t know where they’re planning to cut off between episodes. I do love getting to see some extra interaction between characters beyond what was skimmed over in the manga.
