I had to have a tooth pulled in January '22 and a few months later, I had to undergo root canal treatment. I no longer fear the dentist, for it is pointless. Dread it, run from it, dental work arrives all the same.

i hear you... killed an entire bottle of captain morgan and cried myself to sleep i was in so much pain went to the dentist the next day and after the root canal treatment i felt sane again... no more fear

Really crazy how health insurance doesn't cover any dentistry appointments/procedures.

Same in germany. Everybody always says "we have full health insurance, don't need to pay for any treatments" when in reality the only things we don't have to pay are minor checkups. We still pay monthly for the insurance, which can be A LOT and things like dentist are not covered at all. So if you need a replacement for a tooth because you are just born that way, brush your teeth a lot and do nothing wrong you still have to pay a couple thousand € for A SINGE TOOTH. It's insane

I just, as I'm typing this left the dentist to have all my teeth removed. They were only able to use local anesthesia and I could feel the teeth separating from my skull, I cried the whole time. If you're reading this and you don't properly take care of your teeth, please don't make my mistake. Please take care of your teeth. EDIT: and since I'm in America, if I didn't have insurance I would have had to shell out over 9k for the work, and 3k for the dentures. I was very fortunate to have Insurance that would cover it.

I used to be pretty scared of dentists when I was little, but then I had to get a tooth taken out, roots and all, and suddenly I wasn't really scared of them anymore. That was over 10 years ago and there's still a gap where my tooth used to be since nothing ever grew back in its place. I think I actually brought that tooth in for show and tell soon afterwards, because little me was so fascinated by it and wanted to show off that I 'survived the dentist' to the other kids.

The dentist accidentally exploded my tooth when I was like 16. It was funny just had these 2 dudes looking at me and then I felt something snap and fly out of my mouth and on the floor. Then they looked at me then at each other then back at me and told me what happened and I just kinda laughed and they glued it back on I still don’t re mind the dentist.

I have had a cavity removed once because I thought I was smart finding ways to avoid doing it, and it wasn't really worth it because when I would eat anything crunchy a solid chunk snapped off until it was a pointy nub. Please for your own comfort, take care of your teeth!
