My preference is the Anchor color but you are stitching so go with what makes your heart sing. 💜 I don’t know anything about Maynia but I like your idea of finishing in May. ❤

I think the purple Anchor would look great! I'm doing my first Maynia this year, doing 5 starts and taking a week to stitch on each to make decent progress.

If you want to see an approximate visual of your silk in PK, just try to match it against the closest DMC and plug that color in. I did that with a color conversion I made before. It also helps you be able to share your conversion with others so they can know roughly what sort of color you used.

I like the silk especially because of the verigation. It will bring some depth to the castle. Also I'm doing Mira May. I have 5 Mirabilia projects on the go and I'm going to stitch on one for a week. Enjoy your videos very much. Thank you for taking the time to make them.

I am not doing Maynia, as I am trying to reduce my WIPs (currently they're 60). Also, I've found out I don't really like switching projects too often, as it takes some time for me to feel "connected" to my project if I have put it away for too long. Also, I like making plans on how I am going to stitch my project while I am working on it and if I switch I forget all my planning. That's why I have picked a handful of my WIPs to work in 2024, hoping to get some finishes! I would go for the silk thread, it matches better the rest of the colors in my opinion!

Im going to do Maxine Gadd May with my Autumn Harmony. I might also start something new, but we’ll see. I’m def doing a birthday start and that’s early June so a may start also feels problematic. Hoping to get a major leap forward on Autumn Harmony.

I like the silk for the castle. I am thinking about Mermaid May and working on the Bella Filipina Mermaids of the Seasons. With a goal to get one of the four mermaids cross stitched and back stitched leaving the beading until all of the mermaids are completed.

Hi Jamie! My sister is getting married in June, so my May plan is to get a piece done for her…I am such a procrastinator ! My birthday is May 20, so I may have to have a new start on that day 😄 Silk!

The fabric and silk seem very close in color. Would the stitches show up? I’ll give you a third option to noodle on. Do a blend of the two colors. No mania for me. I’m a monogamous stitcher, every once in awhile I’ll have two going. I live vicariously by watching KZbin to watch what they do. Have you seen round granny circles? I saw them on a KZbin, where else? Unique and cute.

Great update! I like both color options for dragon hall, and I do think it would be a good place to use the silk. I am planning to participate in MerMay for my May cross stitching and see if I can finish any of my mermaid pieces. Thanks for sharing and Happy Stitching!

I would use the anchor but that is because variegated thread scares me. I like predictability. I don’t celebrate Maynia, but I like your idea of pulling out your past maynia starts. I would love to see a wip parade of your past maynia starts.

I have also been focusing on WIPs this year, so I thought about doing a 5 for 5. (Picking 5 WIPs, and each one gets 5 days in a row of stitching)

I think the silk looks better and might be a better covarage on the fabric 🤔 I also wish I could participate in 24 hours of cross stitch, but unfortunately I'm traveling this weekend. So maybe I will do it by myself a few days later when I have some spare time. And oh my god! I had no idea about Maxine Gad May (I'm new to all of this), so I will probably be doing that - I love your progress on Autumn Harmony and the chart itself, so I was inspired to also get it, will probably start that around the beginning of the month. For Maynia I will probably do 3 new starts? 1 start for each letter of the month 😅 I don't want to overdo it.

If you stitch the castle in the silk and it fades into the background a bit you could always backstitch it (in purple or grey?) to help it stand out more. I successfully resisted all sales... until Paine Free Crafts announced their sale this morning. They very rarely have sales and my wishlist for them is the longest so my resistence crumbled lol One of the charts I got was Cozy Winter Book Nook and I think I'm going to UFO my Magic Study WIP by Rose Khan/HAED and start this one instead because the charting is so much more sharper and it will be more fun to stitch I think - just look at the pattern on the carpet it's so sharp! No plans for mania in May I'm really liking my rotation and I started 4 new WIPs on Leap Day and still don't feel like I have spent enough time on them to justify a new start. But that could change depending on flosstube, facebook etc - I'm easily influenced lol.

I want to do something for Maynia-I think I’m going to shoot for some finishes. I have some lingering WIPs that I could finish. I can’t do 24HOCS because I have a disability and can’t sit for very long. I do all of my stitching while standing and can only do a little bit at a time throughout the day and take lots of breaks to walk around. Good luck with your decisions.

I vote for the silk. I haven't decided on maynia plans yet. My options are to just stay with my regular rotation, monogamous may with my current priority wip, or spin the wheel daily like you do. I definitely want to do a month with the wheel at some point this year.

The silk would be so pretty for your castle! And I know how you feel about buying new charts. I LOVE ChrissaBug's art, I have Artemis, but now I want all the goddesses that she has in that style. But I feel like she releases a new one every day! I do not have plans yet for Maynia. I haven't participated in the past, but I do know I don't want to make any new starts. I'd like to get some progress on some of the charts I already have started. I like your idea of finishing some projects though, frees up more time for other projects!

Hmm... I think the purpley anchor would show up better but I like the silk color better for the castle. Looking forward to seeing what you pick and how it looks as well as what you decide to do in May. I wonder how all your calculations would end up if you didn't work on your normal goals? Love the silk for the hall, but will it blend in too much? I will probably do a Finish it May, for some smalls and ornament sized charts. I just finished my last 2 full coverage projects from 2020 this month. So I am definitely not ready to commit to anything intense in May!

I like the silk more, but maybe only because my brain can better work with neutral colours. As for the Maynia, my birthday is at the end of April, so I am starting my first ever HEAD (it's going to be a several-year-long project, so it is not actually a Maynia :D). Do what makes you happy (cross stitch is a hobby after all), but I love seeing your progress. Always look forward to your videos to see you meeting your goals :D I have only one project at the time so doing something like spinning a wheel is quite pointless for me, but I enjoy you doing so :) Happy stitching.

I think you should go for finishes. You could also pull out your old maynia starts and work those on the starting date, I see people do that a lot. I don’t do maynia. I should *knock on wood* be back to working on my Dark queen of the earth that has been untouched for five months, as I should finish up my current focus project this month. But I am in a bit of a slump atm. I really want the wheel to give out the boardgame sal for you because I really want tosee how it looks stitched out haha. I think silk, since in my opinion the purple might be too blendy with the fabric? But fabric usually show so badly on camera.. And I don’t like when colours are too matchy but other people like that effect and I don’t know where you fall in that category. My weekends tend to be plans of stitching but end up mostly watching flosstube so no difference for me. :)

They usually don't say which pieces the companies are going to be getting. I just check in the Facebook groups for the different companies to see what the new releases are. Occasionally, companies will ask in the Facebook group if there's a specific piece people want charted and that gives an opportunity to request artwork.
