I was thinking about it. I do like the drinks and the jellyfish. But knowing it’s AI kind of ruins it. I just have so many other full charts I want to do so I think I’m going to sit this one out again. But thank you for posting about it! I don’t think I would have seen it otherwise!

Hi…. Just joined your channel.. I am doing the HAED SAL 2025 and have chosen Descants by Stephanie Law. I am not convinced about some of the AI ones - they look lovely but not sure if they would translate to thread as the colours would likely be very flat… but I digress… My other choice was Unicorn Valley but I wanted to have the unicorns in the crop… so I might have to do the full piece one day! I am a little bit worried about the light colours in the background for Descants but when I looked at the floss list there is no white or 3865… it’s all pale purple and greys so I think I can do it…. I am really excited to see the participants get to 2000 or 3000 as I would love those 2 reward charts 😂 Going to watch one of your updates now 😊

Hi! I'm thinking about getting the Stephanie Law Chart, because I love it and will probably do it on a coloured fabric to avoid the light stitching issues. I'm usually intimidated by the large charts, so I would use as an opportunity to get the cropped version. Not sure about stitching it next year, though, because I've been charts going on already and less time with a little baby. I enjoy watching your progress! Cheers!

I joined the SAL last year and did the Fox and completed it and made it into a decorative pillow for my bed. I choose the Innocent Dreams one for this year because I love the bunny. As you may know we got the first two participation charts because we got over 2000 participants. I'm not sure if I want to finish this year or even complete the 6 pages because I have close to 200 HAED charts already as well as about 50 other charts so I really don't need any more, in fact, I really wouldn't do many of the other charts except maybe the lion one. You never know, I may perk up and get going on the chart I picked. Last year I was doing the chart as a monogamous stitch until I got finished each section then I would work on other charts until the next installment. Since the charts are bigger this year I don't see me doing that because I would probably only be able to do this SAL all year long..

When I first saw the full Drinks on the Beach chart, I thought it would make a wonderful cropped chart (QS) - so when it was part of this year's SAL I finally talked myself into registering for it. I have been working on the same HAED since 2019, and I am bummed that this means I won't finish that one in 2025 though.

You seem to be so excited about this SAL and the options in the charts. You have goals for this year but you haven’t made next year’s goals as far as I know. I think you should go for it. I think you should go for the Drinks on the beach just because it’s different, but obviously you need to choose what makes you feel excited. 😆

I just paid for the SAL. Have to give my choice though. Wanted to do Mother’s Love, but since it could be an AI piece, I’m going to sign up for Drinks on the Beach. I won’t support AI because I think we need to support the real artists! Thanks for the video. Hope you’ll participate next year too. For the SAL this year I’ve managed to stitch a whole whopping of 2,000 stitches 😂😂😂

I have been debating it, but I decided on no. I do like 2 of the patterns, the waterfall one and the jellyfish one but I can't say I truly love them and I'd rather wait on something I do love. I do think a lot of the charts are pretty though and I look forward to watching others stitch them 😊

I just signed up. I am doing the steampunk chart! LOVE the colours in it! I really like a couple of the bonus charts as well. (ESP Odie) I am hoping to get all 12 charts…I think that is pretty ambitious in my thinking though. THank you for tempting us with lovely images. Though I do love the Safety first image i want to resist as I want work on stashing down my WIPS. I want work on some my abandonned Knit and crochet projects and just cross stitch kits already in my stash. But there are so many SALs i already want to do like from OwlForest Embroidery: mushroom, Treasure Island and 100 owls. Also Lolacrows deadly Aquarium and greenhouse and Library. I recently purchase in sale "Gift of Stitching" backlog of magazines which have tons of patterns to do.

I liked the jellyfish but knowing its AI, I wont do it! I do like the Stephanie Maw one - it would be okay to do on like a gray fabric. I might be thinking about that one. I do like the reward charts for 1000 and 2000 participants! Good luck on your final choice! Hope it works out for you!

I had the same issue with the jellies so I went with the White Lion chart. I like the free charts better than the SAL choices. Hopefully enough people will sign up to actually get those.

I joined and selected the unicorn waterfall chart. I really love the Pagoda scene. I really am not a unicorn person so them being cropped out works for me. I am sure that waterfall is going to be confetti City but I am ready for it. My plan is to focus on getting 6 pages done. That way I am not stressing myself out trying to finish. But this is going to be my focus piece for next year. I am going to try and get a couple more current WIPs done before the end of the year hopefully.

I’ve been cross stitching since I was 10 years old, so 31 years now. This will be my first SAL. I am doing “Nature’s King”. I was actually underwhelmed by the choices. Initially I liked the jellies, but it’s the largest of the 12. I think by 5,000 stitches. I don’t like AI art either so…. I decided to punish myself with the lion one 😆 I do like the charts that we can possibly get if enough people sign up. Hope you join, the more the merrier!

I have been watching others doing sals and i decided the best is to just start it now. 🥰 I looked up the rules and everything and i will do tent stitch and the community is encouraging. And at the end of the day if i am not enjoying i can stop it. But right now it is motivating for me at least finish 6 full pages to get all the other charts (i had a hard time to decide which one to stitch).😅 My plan is i stitch the least confetti heavy one (innocent dreams) and i get the rest of it later. I know i chose an ai image but if i get the 6 pages, i well get the another three charts. In either way by participating i get ai charts. My advice to you: choose the one which you knoy it will bring joy. Like you said the summer party one is different. About the free charts: we have currently 560-ish members and i would love to get the hummingbird one 🦜

I was also consider8ng the drinks because it is so colorful and so different from what I usually stitch. The jellyfish and Law's designs were top of my list too, but I took a look at the mockups and it feels like they lose too much important detail (also the jellyfish are much darker). I will need some time to consider it and will probably be influenced by other peoples' choices too 😅

Full coverage isn't my jam but I don't purchase from companies who sell AI art. It is simply not ethical as it was trained by using real art without permission.

I am very disappointed that HAED has decided to use AI “art” in its line. It is a literal slap in the face to true artists. I have boycotted Heaven and Earth Designs.

I looked and took my time thinking about it and decided I'm not going to participate. My favorite by far was the Unicorn Waterfall chart especially when I went to see the whole design and I went ahead and purchase the full chart especially since HAED is currently having big chart sales. Honestly, I'm still salty about them using AI artwork and part of that factored into my decision (plus the AI designs still have a strange plasticy look to them). In the end, I have too many projects already planned for 2025 and it sounded cool but I don't like that each year the piece seems to be getting bigger.

The only chart I'd consider stitching is Jelly World but its AI generated so that doesn't sit right with me but then so many charts now are AI that its getting harder to identify ones which aren't. After seeing a flosstuber talking against AI then started stitching a chart which to me screams AI - I really start to wonder if its something we can even avoid anymore. Maybe I should just stitch the chart I think is pretty even if it is AI or maybe I just don't need another chart to stitch at all (though I do think the hummingbird reward chart is gorgeous!). Love following you regardless of what you decide though I do think the drinks chart is just so bright and cheerful 😊

I agree. I won't purchase any AI charts - and HAED's response to being called out for the use of AI, with the free chart debacle from a few months ago, has totally turned me off of stitching any of her charts. We should support actual designers and the art they make - not AI art. It's disappointing the way this company has gone.

I am doing the 2024 sal Astrology cat I am like 5% done but thats okey for me because I had no plan to finish it this year. I am tempted to buy this sal and do the jellyfish but since its AI I am not sure

I joined and chose Drinks on the Beach because of strategy. If I have to stitch 6 pages or finish it in a year, there are lots of objects to keep you motivate than say the lion one. Even though I like the lion one better.

I'm going to pass on participating, but I'll cheer you on from the sidelines while I work on my Mead Dragon. I've been working on this piece for 9 months and just hit the 31K stitch point, so I know that I wouldn't be anywhere near able to finish something three times that size in a year. I wasn't tempted when the 2024 designs came out but the mushroom charts grew on me, so I knew I'd consider 2025. I don't want to strive to finish it because I'd rather stick to my goals on my WIPs, but I like the participant charts too so I figure even getting to 1k participants is worth it. That is understandable. I really wish they had at least kept the 4 page finish goal to receive the other SAL charts. I feel a lot more pressure to pick the "right" chart because I'm unsure if I could finish 6 pages.

The colors will be so fun to stitch and you won’t feel the pressure of creating a “scene”. You can just have fun with the changing colors.

I don't participate. I like to stitch on different projects, and not focus too much. And I have already a few full coverage patterns not started, that I like more. On the end you get when you finish it, one pattern free that you choice. But you have to buy the SAL first. So I prefer to buy the pattern that I really like in the sale immediately. But if you really love a lot of patterns from the SAL, and you going to stitch it than its a good deal. And you have already 2 patterns that you like than I think go for it! Also, I love the colors in drinks on the beach and was really excited but then the mockup just didn't excite as much. Do you know if the mockups are an accurate representation of the stitched piece? It is highly unethical for HAED to sell AI pseudoart. To have that compete with the work of actual artists is very disrespectful to the artists.

I signed up, I just don't know which one I will pick yet so I haven't filled out the survey. The 12 reward charts is what motivates me and the milestone charts...that Aimee Stewart....I want it bad but 4k is a big ask they would have to quadruple the current membership. The AI thing is problematic HOWEVER I am supporting HAED b/c I want to support artists not the AI "artists" and the more I learn about digital art I am just like meh. I was around and in college when the whole is "digital art? Art" controversy was a thing so I have a different perspective lol I put up my Christmas tree yesterday b/c Nov 1st YES!

AI and digital art are different. You have to actually draw on a pad to create digital art. AI is straight up theft though. A computer is creating the image from others stolen on the internet. I won’t do them either.

@@shadowbroker4619 digital art isn't just that though is it, it is also manipulating images and making them your own, it is using a computer instead of having to have real skill, being able to use computer coding and refinement tools that take traditional artists decades to perfect...to me AI is just the next evolution of digital art but now the digital artists are mad b/c this is what the traditional artists were saying back when I was in college. If my art can be computerized and mass produced without the skill of real materials then where does it end? The digital artists are finally understanding what traditional artists 20+ years ago were worried about. I am not a proponent for AI except in certain situations. I try to steer clear from AI but it does make me think of those days in college and the arguments for and against

I was hoping I would hate them all because I have 3 starts on Full coverage things and a million WIPS, BUT I really like the jellyfish and the AI. It IS depressing that they are AI and that we have to do even MORE this year (which seems insane), so I haven't committed yet. I'm not a huge fan of most of them so getting them all as a reward doesn't do it for me, but the LITTLE DRAGON??? UGH. I kinda need him.
