April 2018 - $800 Gaming PC Build - Ryzen 5 2400g + GTX 1050ti - w/ Gaming Benchmarks

This month’s build is a $800 gaming pc with a black & red theme.
Last month I built a compact gaming PC using the Ryzen 2400g APU. I was surprised how well the 2400g preformed and think it’s a great option for building a pc on a budget but I wanted to see how well the 2400g would do when paired with a dedicated video card. So for this month’s build I paired the 2400g with a gtx 1050ti.
What’s great about this build is that you could put it together without the video card for around $585 and still have a good entry level gaming rig then add a video card later when you’re ready to invest a little more into your system.

It's connected to the Graphics card otherwise if the monitor was connected to the motherboard it would connect to the built in graphics, vega 11. Which is still pretty good for the price.

Jamy sorry how it is 1 year later uhh make sure you have a 600 watt power supply and throw in an amd rx 570. The 2400g makes and a great combo and has less than 3.46 percent of bottleneck

I just put together a sort of similiar build also for 800. I went for an intel cpu though, the i5 8400. Its actually quite good for gaming, which is funny since I always thought an i7 was essential for modern games. I went for 16gb of ram and also a gtx 1050ti. Its also a mATX case. The only reason mine is only 800 for me is because I already own a 500gb ssd, which saved quite a bit of money. Since mine doesnt use an apu you need to buy the gpu at the same time, so either way the one in the vid is cheaper. Im surprised this build only used 8gb of ram though as its using an apu.

Waaaay more cheaper + it's newer amd release + it's apu (you can use it as is without dedicated graphics card if you don't have one at the moment) + it has a free cooler fan. What else you want from an affordable decent cpu.

nope, only one graphical input at a time. some people say having an apu and gpu is redundant, but if the gpu breaks the apu can be your backup. if you can't buy a worthwhile gpu but you can afford an apu, it's good for first time or budget builds too. also, if you're planning to buy a new mobo for a amd cpu build, watch out for 300 series motherboards. they need a bios update to work with ryzen 2 CPUs.

bro, you would need to update the motherboard bios... I faced the same issue. what you can do is, use some old or borrowed amd cpu and update your bios or go to local shops and get it upgraded for you. That would obviously charge you a bit :p

@@Mytikshorts Now there could be two problems, either your ryzen2400g fan is getting heated alot because the thermal paste has came off (There's very less chance of this) OR maybe you have corrupt windows10... try using a live UBUNTU usb and see if it closes when you use youtube on it.

In Philippines (as of May 2019), You can buy 2nd hand systems same as this, 8 GB of RAM (Even 16GB), for 386$ (or under if it's negotiable), anyways nice build.

You are buying Gtx 1060 6gb. which costs 310+ . I guell your budget is around 800 bucks. 450w costs aroun 50 and 550 around 60, so not that big difference in your budget. Yes 450w is a minimum recommended for GPU but never go with minimum on PSU. Its like riding bike with minimal pressure in tires, it can go but if you stress it, then it fails. I don't think so. If it doesn't have integrated graphics, it won't work without a graphics card. Laptops have integrated graphics because cards are too big to fit in there. The 2200g and 2400g have the best integrated graphics, and are around the same price as the 1600 as far as I know.

ASHY I would do research on the new ryzen CPU’s the 2700x has more cores and threads so it’s better for multitasking which means you’ll get better streaming quality but you should definitely research ryzen before you go intel

Its depend on your planning to buy a new gpu later or if you waiting your graphic card to sold you can use apu for temporary. Also the performance its not bottleneck pair with gtx 1060 or 1070
