@@burgerkingofficialyoutubec2798 I guess it was meant to avoid lags caused by other processes. But the it causes stuttering of the game, background apps and crashes. Usually this doesn't occur when you put a game on higher or high priority - it's something in the implementation of cod which is causing this problems.

Try disabling both "Cache Spot Shadows" and "Cache Sun Shadows" on the graphics settings. Make sure you apply the settings. Go play a few matches right away just to test it out. If it doesn't crash, you're good!

@@Knoss0s Yeah seems like anything to do with programming gets blocked. Visual Studio, PyCharm and stuff I use. Had to close it or else the game would crash 15 seconds in.

I was certain it was something with my video driver, but now since I’ve tried doing your strategy it might be the games problem. After I changed it to exe1 I’ve played this game for an entire hour without crashing. Before it would crash after a match and a half. It is also much smoother so thank you

Nice video but it didn’t work for me 😢 I load into the game perfectly with no problems and I can play regular multiplayer with no problems but as soon as I get into warzone the game crashes after like 3 minutes of playing time. I’ve literally tried everything at this point! It’s getting ridiculous

Lukas Gontarz yea same error, I tried everything to fix it and nothing was working, So I tried uninstalling the game off of my SSD and putting it on my hard drive. It’s been running pretty smooth so far no crashes or anything

Try entering the game and wait in the main menu with the soldier in the back for 10 minutes literally just doing nothing... then start the game. That process worked for me :)

I have tried reinstalling Windows, put the latest drivers, change PSU cables , disable the O.C but the reboots kept coming ONLY on this game. Only your trick did the magic. This works for me! If you're having trouble make SURE you have windows updated properly. You may also need to tweak your in game settings.

Another fix... Open the game, wait for the lobby for 10-15 minutes, after that you can play with no crash. You have to do it every single time you want to play the game. It's annoying to wait but hope it helps.

@@WhooDeenie nice man, also changing the exe's name to ModernWarfare1 did the trick for me and skipped the 15 minutes of waiting. Just make sure that u have loaded the shaders to 100% before changing the exe's name.

Irvin Esmabe man I wish I could do that but my modern warfare crashes a few seconds into the game that I don’t have time to follow the instructions. Like if it’s the computer specs, I’ve the gtx 1070 and 16GB ram ryzen 2700x and game sometimes runs soooo smooth and sometimes so bad, so no steps work for me 😩

Yeah, that's so frustating isn' it? Try this, after you enter the game and the main menu appears, just leave it like that for maybe around 5 or 10 mins. Don't get into any menus or settings. This works for me.

It works, but I can't say I recommend it at all. Doing this will lag your game hard. It isn't the typical type of lag you usually get either. You will have a high frame rate, but your game will constantly stutter and your game will always freeze, speed up, slow down, and repeat. It's nice that the game doesn't crash anymore, but the lag makes the game almost unplayable.

@@mewobbie I doubt that. I have an Intel 9th gen core i7 cpu and the lag stopped once I stopped renaming the game files. My cpu might not be the best out there, but I can run Modern Warfare on ultra high settings and still get 60fps. I think a better fix for the crashing on PC is to just turn the priority of Modern Warfare to normal. But without changing the name of the game file.

Guys I've tried it all in the past few weeks since I now have more time because of the virus... Nothing really worked for me and I mean absolutely nothing, watched tons of videos and tips and forums and nothing worked. UNTILLL I changed my graphics settings in game where you can customize your fps (frames per second) and i changed that to what my screen refresh rate is (mine is 60) AND disable the V-sync! This things made my game work untill then, with zero crashes. The only downside is i now have some screen tearing but stil better that than not be able to play at all. Hope it helps you, and if it does, spread it around, because I know there are a lot of guys that cannot play because of this shit.

Don’t set it to high. It will increase CPU usage which will result in more crashing. Change the setting down to normal when in main menu
