I live about an hour from their school. They came and looked at a camper we had for sale. They were extremely nice folks.

I just watched this video and if I had seen it earlier, I probably wouldn’t be sitting here recovering from a torn tendon, torn ligament and 3 small fractures on my left ankle. I have a Radar Boa front foot binding and rear toe strap that April Coble-Eller calls a recipe for injuries. I wiped out this season and my front foot didn’t come out. Now I’m looking for a new binding! I’ve been to other ski schools and they never taught some of the basics that I learned from this video. 👍

just wandering? This video is awesome, however my problem is not knowing where to put the weight on my skis? It wasn't covered in this one, is there another one that covers this? Thank you
@Steve.Dunphy
@Steve.Dunphy Ай бұрын
Unfortunately not. Your weight should be balanced underfoot, meaning your centre of mass should be over your feet. Knee over front foot should be your goal and will get you off your back foot if that's the case.

Love this! I am not an aggressive skier, Just a casual skier. I am 72, been skiing for about 40 years, not every year. I have a HO fusion free ride. We just sold our mastercraft and not problem getting up, however the ski for me is very squirrelly on flat water. We now have a searay 190 ob. I am have a terrible time getting up on this boat. I have thinking the ski is to much of a competition ski for me. Thinking of the HO Hovercraft women’s ski. Any suggestions? Thank you

Hi Judy, that's amazing that you're still getting out on the water! Going from getting pulled behind a MC and a SeaRay is a huge change. I agree that the Hovercraft would perhaps be a good choice and you'll be popping out of the water like a cork due to it's larger surface area. Keep fit and have fun on the water!!

Question, I hear a lot of adults in the room. Is this one of the adults-only spa weekends? Or is this just the normal camping session? I thought the normal session was mostly kids.

Last week of May is Family Week and lots of kids, otherwise mid-April to third week of May is primarily adults with some kids with their parents. First week of June is the start of kids camps.

A question for you - should you wear a helmet water skiing ? ( a windsurf helmet with holes for water to pass through ). With the ski designed to come off we debate whether it is a good idea. Know of an aggressive skier getting hit in the head with her ski after a bad fall which nearly killed her - she does not wear a helmet even after the crash. Dont see many people do it. Just wondered about your thoughts on this.

Excellent question @sandraredmond4812! Yes, there is a remote chance a ski will come off in a crash and hit you...but in my experience, it is very rare! You would stand a better chance of rupturing an Achilles or breaking your ankle in a crash. I do however have a couple of people training with me that wear a helmet while skiing or tricking, more so to prevent concussion in the event of a hard fall. Hope that helps?

@@Steve.Dunphy thanks for the reply. Does the helmet pose any danger? Any reason not to wear one?
@Steve.Dunphy
@Steve.Dunphy 10 ай бұрын
@sandraredmond4812 waterskiing is a high impact sport and a crash will happen, you just don't know when. Wearing a helmet designed for watersports ie) wakeboard helmet would be your best bet if you chose to go with one. I can't tell you what you should do. It's a personal preference.

@@Steve.Dunphy i really appreciate your insight. We just wondered if there was a reason not to wear a helmet such as increased risk for neck injury or other down side to wearing a helmet. It is an open debate in our boat. Just looking for some input from someone with more experience and exposure to the risk/reward of wearing a helmet. Thank you :)

@sandraredmond4812 I'm not a doctor but I'm sure the benefits to wearing a helmet far outway the risks if that's the route you choose.
