Everyone gather your scraps and put them in a shoe box or a jar or a bag because we are going to use them to create a scrap quilt.

❤❤❤I don't like to watch these long LIVE videos; because, it hurts when my head hits this desk. I usually fall to sleep trying to watch a LIVE video. I have made quilts almost this way. However, I put a back behind my batting so that I am quilting all three layers together at the same time (as I am piecing the top). When I use different fabric on the back of each block, I end up with another quilt top on the back (two quilts in one). It a great way to use up a lot of scraps. The stitching (quilting) shows on the back only. For added interest for your blocks, you can piece some of the smaller scraps together to make strings to sew on. It's always fun, messy, and makes a lot of dust; but, it is worth it.

Seems the process would be more complete if you began with backing, batting and then started attaching strips. You do have to use strips to attach them but it does add to the final look of the quilt. Nice that you are making us all ‘quilting geniuses’!

I am so sad I missed my KY QUILTY TWIN!! This was an awesome idea to do it out of the scraps in my jar. I always put some longer pretty strips in a clear sit on it’s side cookie type jar. Now I can pull them out when overflowing and make a couple blocks and then save up for some more. I put the strips in the jar just because I think they are cute to look at on the shelf. I also have one with buttons, one with cross stitch thread cut offs from numerous projects and one from just sewing machine thread cut offs. The thread jars are button jars are clear antique metal screw on lid quart jars. The buttons will fill quickly but the threads take forever! 🤣🤣💙🪡🧵🍫

Lol,when threading your needle on your machines I found if you cut your thread at a 45 degree angle you can put that thread in a lot easier. I have a very difficult time seeing that hole in the needles so this helps me.

You could end up with puckers as quilting does move your fabric a little and by having open space on sides or top bottom you can smooth as you go
