I messed with my unit for 2 hours trying to figure out why it wasn't turning on the water. The only thing I can figure is the humidistat is bad.

If you have a volt meter, you can test for roughly 24 Volts of AC power coming out of the humidistat headed to the humidifier. It should absolutely work in test mode to run the humidifier. There are more videos on our website that you can find based on your humidifier model number that MIGHT help you further.

@@jayguliano3144 Thanks. I tested and I was not getting voltage to the valve but that's because the unit isn't telling it to turn on. I got the unit to work randomly while frantically turning the knob from test to off repeatedly. It turned the water on once but hasn't worked since.

Now show us how to hook up the outdoor sensor. 10,000 videos on the device but not how to install the temp sensor.

The temp sensor is mounted outdoors. Installation is a matter of drilling a 3/16-inch hole through the wall, mounting it at that hole, pushing the wire through the wall, and caulking the hole. The sensor needs to be high enough so as to not be buried in snow. Preferably on the North side of your home so it's not hit by the sun much. Some installers drill a small hole in the side of the fresh air duct going to their 90% efficiency furnaces and push the sensor into that hole. They then put a hose clamp around the pipe to hold it into place. The wire from the sensor can be easily extended to any reasonable length using bell wire. There is nothing special about the sensor wire.
