Lupe is in the most elite category of MCs respect wise like everyone whose opinion matters because of the size of their contribution to hip hop culture knows Lupe is one of those MCs that is entirely unique and extremely dangerous to fuck with. Royce literally never had a chance. Lupe’s mixtape “Friend of the People I Fight Evil” which contains the original SLR “super Lupe rap” which he then punned off the camera reference to show him exposing his opponents. That mixtape has zero skippers and like I literally can’t pick a best track because so many are insane

The craziest part about this "battle" (more like a one-sided stomp with the more neutral crowd going "stop, stop, he's already dead") is that Lupe initially free-styled on Royce's podcast/IG show asking him to respond in kind (that's where the "had the audacity to ask rappers to rap"-line comes from), Royce took weeks to respond - and then Lupe countered with this semi-freestyle in less than 48 hours !

The one thing I noticed people keep missing is when he says "your story crooked and your book too" people are recognizing that he's talking about Book of Ryan, but an Allegory is a story, he's referencing Royce's two best albums, not just Book of Ryan.
