Bought a 2024 RS660 a few weeks ago and I'm absolutely loving it. Being it's constantly been in the 90's the last few weeks here in Oklahoma, I'm loving it.

As for the clutch, back off the barrel adjuster a tad to add a little bit of play on the initial pull, shortens the reach as long as correct full engagement when pulled in. Adjustable levers at $250-350 are ridiculous in price. Should have come with adjustable levers for reach at 11,399. Also for non-riding people, quick shifters/clutchless shifters are for shifting while under pretty hard/full throttle. Not typically cruising speeds or relaxed shifts. On a track, or a street drag race is where these shifters are set up to work best. Riders don't really shift down to first gear all that often on a track. I would assume 2nd to 3rd and then 4th gear sprints would be more typical for the ecu, electronics and the mesh of the physical gears.
@GettingthruLife2 жыл бұрын
Also, the word is after the 600 break-in miles period the ecu allows/unlocks the bike to put out higher rpm and more power/torque.

Agree, it should have an adjustable clutch lever

God those roads remind of Royal National Park south of Sydney and yeah the best twisties ever but the slowest bloody speed limits and over policed. Everytime you pinned it I was feeling nervous just like i used to riding those roads. Spent a while in Canberra which has some very choice twisties and far less police but am now moving to Biggenden QLD and cant wait to explore the local back roads, hoping for not too much traffic and police. Hope i run into you (not literally) at some point if i'm down south. EDIT: I had a 2020 R6 briefly and that had a useless rear brake as well it felt broken it was so bad. I guess its the sports bike way?

Haha maybe it is. I'm going to look at it in the next couple of days to see what the issue is. You can't see it on the footage, but I'm always scanning ahead and never ride there on the weekends. My family lives near Maryborough and my old man rides out to Biggenden, you might just run into me!

The quickshifter on my 2022 rs660, when downshifting, is very clunky aswell. There is too much resistance on the gear lever. It does blip the throttle, but it’s still harder to push down, compared to classic downshifting with the clutch pulled in. I rode the 2022 Rsv4 factory the other day, and on that bike the blipper was buttery smooth 🤷🏼♂️😔

Sounds very similar to my experience with it

The levers not being adjustable, yet so far away, is a head-scratcher…. Getting adjustable levers is a game-changer… but be careful of the delicate clutch-switch when putting on the clutch lever! Common break, yet easily fixable with an $8 clutch-switch repair kit…. (Also, I was able to rig it to fix it temporarily, but was still a nuisance)

Hi I just bought a 2022 rs660. I noticed the front brake lever takes around 1-1.5cm before it activates the brake, which is completely different to my previous honda cbr650 which started to brake as soon as you pulled the lever in, did your rs660 do this for you also?
@onthebackwheel2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, no it did not. Your brakes may need to be bled

Many who own this bike have had many issues regarding the engine and electronics. My friend is having a terrible time with his bike, engine lights, stalling, not starting, dealing with the dealership and now excessive vibration ..... He is now looking for a lemon law lawyer. It really angers me that Aprilia would release a bike with so many issues, shame. You would never see this with Japanese motorcycle companies, definitely not what I'm seeing with my friends bike.
@stevebright85832 жыл бұрын
Why do I keep seeing this comment for April rs660 reviews? You really do seem hell bent on bad mouthing this machine. I have had mine since last March and it’s an incredible bike and has given me zero issues.

@@stevebright8583 That's great Steve, I hope it stays that way, truly. It's beautiful bike that was rushed to the consumer a little too soon. My comments regarding the Aprilia rs660 is a warning. There have been issues with this bike, in some cases many issues, I've seen it first hand. It's no secret, twins cup, reviews, comments on the web. Read Asphalt and Rubbers review many issues with all the testers.

"You would never see this with Japanese motorcycle companies"... Ummm, yes. I bought a brand new Honda Africa Twin AS and while mine has been great, many others have had "teething problems". These issues include a "rinse" of the tank and possible replacement of fuel pump and filters as well as injectors for some due to flaking of improper poor welds (in the tank). I would never buy a first year product of almost anything. An unfortunate reality of the world we live in is that the consumer, in almost all markets, plays a role in identifying initial issues not identified by the developers/factory. Spamming every review is not constructive and makes you look childish although I do understand your frustration. I plan to buy an RS660 this spring (2022 model).

@@CorwinKZbin Comparing Honda's reliability record with Aprilia?? That a must! The big four is way ahead in reliability, and these issues are rare, I think you know this. Look, if I make you think I'm childish for warning others about the issues I have heard and seen first hand, then so be it. I'm doing my part letting folks know this bike has issues and in some cases many issues.
@Champion2Manager2 жыл бұрын
I’m only concerned about the reliability like many of us, GOD it’s a beautiful bike, but its worrying me to see many comments like yours. Should I take a shot at it? I’ll wait for a R9 or any new 2 wheel 🛞 🛞 princess 👑 to show its face in 2023 and I’ll decide. Thx
