The GSX-R’s line going into that corner was way too high and the Aprilia was just about to pass, having taken the correct line. The guy on the GSX-R, not wanting a vastly underpowered competitor to pass him, wrenched the throttle way before the bike stood up. Gotta ease into and off of that first and last 5%, the brake and throttle too! Dude shoulda just let the Aprilia pass him, he would’ve gotten him back on the next upshift with all of the extra power he had. Also very telling that a 250 was running right there with a 600. 30 seconds off the straights and the Aprilia was right up the GSX-R’s ass the entire time. Good show! 👏

Anyone who knows about bikes and was told they were battling with a RS250 will immediately know it was being done in the bends. It’s where I did most of my battles with the bigger boys. Pity the 600 high sided but he went in too fast and just run out of grip on the lean over trying to keep position. Shit happens..

That should not have been to bad as it was a low angle when he hit the ground so more of a slide, there is always that risk when trying to get the power on sooner or harder which makes me think this was a forced error as the gxer had shown him a wheel so the RS rider tried harder to keep in front.

did anybody explained what are the lines to the SUZUKI rider? not for the sake of going faster, but being safer. When going to the track u have to be safe for yourself and others. Once u got that, then there is not harm to anyone if he wants to go slower. I've personally crashed 2 or 3 times due to other riders picking wrong lines and coming back without considering who might follow.
@erozC3 жыл бұрын
If you are racing, you have a point. On a trackday, only overtake where the other guy can not close the door. It's not a race. Of course in the seriously fast group one thinks the others know what they are doing and many are racers. But there is no prize at stake.

Pretty sure he just pushed to hard. He got adjustable footrests track setup, the bike in general look like a homemade track bike, but i think it's regular low profil sport street tires, so he was to far down and lost grip. Need those full-on race slicks to get that low :P With sports street tires the original footrest is "tuned" for the max angle of the bike, so you can feel the road grinding against the footrest "spikes" at your max angle, unlike adjustable footrests especially in track setup (back and up for most people) At slower/regular models the footrest spikes is often adjusted for max angle before hitting exhaust, engine and so on, as their designe is significantly different

Nice one Fernando,back in the mid 1990's I rode a race prepared 70bhp RGV250 in the Supersport 400 class in the UK, the bike was well fast however a good friend of mine and road racer at the Snetterton meeting offered me a chance of a few laps on his race prepared 90bhp TZ250 in practice (he told me to be careful), the bike was frightening it was as light as a feather, handled like a dream, leapt out of your hands in the first 3 gears and could keep up with anything and I mean anything down the three-quarter mile back straight (nothing could leave it, no 750, no 1000, nothing), what an experience the TZ was manic, what a bike I'd never experience anything like it before or since, the human brain simply cannot process fast enough on a ultra-light 90bhp race prepared Yamaha two-stroke. Why do you run beyond 11k? The 70V is very peaky and gets frisky between 10 and 11 then it falls of a cliff, 12k is pointless, sounds ok but going nowhere. And how long will your pistons last, they must be going way beyond 4,000m/sec.. Break up time. It's such a nice rare bike, care for it ok?
@HardToTheExtreme4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. A lot of time went into the build and rev limit was considered. It still pulls hard up to 12k then feels like it's hit a wall at even 100rpm over that. 11k isn't enough to maintain the bike in powerband through gear changes so that extra 1000rpm is critical to maintaining power. It is a nice bike, I love riding it, so much fun! Holds itself together with the bigger bikes too!
