I've found at age 69 a new energy level for riding my 3 bikes. I know that there will be a final ride some day and not to focus on being uncomfortable but to just enjoy the moment. S W Motech makes quality tankbags that look super without destroying the looks of the bike. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️

Great review. I put 1,700 miles on my Tuono 660 in December in 5 days of riding over 10 total days. Two days were 12+ hours in the saddle and I can confirm that seat is great. I'm 5'10", 160lbs and used a Kriega 30 and 20 on the back seat with a Givi 5L tank lock for water, snacks, etc. The bike was brilliant and a ton of fun!

Great video dave. I did last year a 1350 mile 5 day trip around Scotland on my rs660. I was amazed at how fresh I felt after each day at 57 years old. You could try the hepco and Becker royster pannier system for camera gear and change of clothes for longer trips.

Thanks for an interesting perspective. When I was younger, a sport bike was my only bike. At my advanced age, though, my arthritic knees make me get off the sport bike every hour, so the GS gets the nod for all-day rides now. Thanks again.

Another good one Dave, any bike will do any job, do not be too hard on yourself not taking it out as the GS is the Dogs, if you had a stool and and arm chair in sitting room to watch TV what would you go for, both will work but one is better, great photos of the Glen Bord Failte should hire you, these will be ride outs for me next summer. Can’t wait for Connemara 3 I even have herself say yours is way better that TMF in Canada

Once I'm in riding condition, longer jaunts have been easy. The next day brings some stiffness, nothing that a good stretching doesn't cure. I'm hoping that will continue for a few years yet. 👍🏼 Glad to hear you had a good day out. 👍🏼👍🏼 ❤📷🏍💕

That was a nice spin out Dave and makes me think i will do longer trips on the Blade next year, though i hate when they resurface the roads here then cover them in loose chippings, horrible on two wheels. There are some lovely twisty roads in Cavan for that bike to enjoy and its not a bad looker for when you stop for a coffee break. Loving the content.

Thanks for the excellent video, Dave! Very informative & often very amusing with some of your comments! It took my interest, as I’ve recently purchased a new RS660 in colour lava red & blue here in Essex (England) & have only ridden 100 miles on it seeing that it’s still winter! However, I’m looking forward to completing long trips & I’ll let you know how I find it in the comfort stakes? Safe, happy riding out there! 😎👍

Thanks for the video, at 65 I was able to do 850 mile days on my Moto Guzzi Lemans but now I'm 70 and have been in poor health. I've lusted for an Aprilia 660 in sport and Tuono. Some of us in the US don't ride Harleys.

Awesome video, very informative. Trying to decide between a RS 660 or a Ninja 650 as my first. Mainly want something that can do a bit of everything. Road, Track riding and touring. , I've heard mixed opinion about the riding portion of the RS 660. Some saying the position is too aggressive for long rides. That's why I am looking at the Ninja 650, for the more "relaxed" ergonomics... but it has no cruise control. I guess the only way to know is to get out there and test ride them both. Oh and another thing that concerns me with the RS 660 is the reliability. Have you had any issues with yours?
@WheelieGoodTV Жыл бұрын
No issues whatsoever. Hasn’t missed a beat and the riding position is more relaxed than a sports bike. Saying that, I’ve just sold it but not for any other reason than wanting a street triple 765 RS. I would get the RS anytime over the Ninja but that’s just me.

Sadly two spine fusions means I had to go down the GS route even though I loved my sports tourers. But I now ride the Multistrada V2S, sporty enough for fun but light and comfortable, basically a upright sports tourer. Off to Belgium from the north east of England in June via the Chunnel, no issues. Incidentally I just use a SW Motech Engage tank bag for all my bits including my Insta 360 X2 and Action 3 accessories, great cameras but I use my iPhone 12 for stills.

Good trip, good chat, good review, and really enjoyed the info on the pass. I don't think my back could take a full day out in the passes, BUT it looks great for the occasional trips on good roads. Really surprised at your feedback on the rain protection, didn't expect it to be so good. Was it real Irish (horizontal) rain?🌨

Both the Rs & Tuono look and sound fantastic as does the Tuareg with the great 660 engine but with old Rugby injuries and what not the Tuono is the one I’d go for lol. The new colour scheme on the Moto America edition would temp be to suffer the pain tho 😖🤣🏍💨💨

stay away! i own honda cb650r 2019- its much cheaper and stays better on the road bike
@KPW2137 Жыл бұрын
@@labasrytas2876 true, it IS cheaper - and I've considerd it but somehow CBR 650R does not feel that nice. I mean the first and foremost reason why I'm considering Aprilia RS is the fact that when I sat on it during a Moto show it felt extremely comfortable, as if it was a custom design to fit me. With CBR, it wasn't as good and comfort, relative as it were, is a VERY important factor for me.
@labasrytas2876 Жыл бұрын
@@KPW2137 wow! i felt complete oposite mate
@KPW2137 Жыл бұрын
@@labasrytas2876 funny, isn't it? But that's why it's so important to try out the bike, make a test ride and get to feel it. We are different, our bodies are different, may possibly have slightly different proportions so one's comfy bike might be another's torture device. Safe travels on your CBR! PS One tiny bit: apart from the price, I'm happy to say that YES, CBR 650 does look great and it seems to have really nice performance. Pity it wasn't nearly comfortable enough in my case :(
