Aprilia RSV4 with Austin Racing Motogp style exhaust

After selling my Red Bull KTM RC8 ( See my other videos) I decided to go for the new Aprilia RSV4. The choice of exhausts was limited but then I spotted this MotoGP style can from Rich at www.austinracin...
The exhaust is something different and the build quality is great. The very competitive price is an added bonus and Rich is excellent to deal with.
This video is filmed with the baffle out just to see what it was like as I run the bike on the road with it fitted. The sound is incredible and this video does not do it justice. The first 80 seconds are with the bike in neutral then you can hear the note change when the bike is put in to gear which opens a valve.
The bike is not run in yet but initial impressions are that it is awesome, have a listen !!

I drive a 600RR 07, I had the chance to drive in Hockenheim with a RSV4. And damn, I still in love with the bike. Feels like a 600, but have power of a 1000cc. Best bike in my eyes. And thats a sick exhaust. Austin do some great stuff for the RSV4! Congrats to this beauty!

Utterly gorgeous! From the Austin pipe to the carbon hugger and the tail tidy to the pin-striped wheels, it looks and sounds superb! How noisy is it when riding and is there much difference with the baffle in?

Honestly Everybody.... . . .This is the Best,Awsome,Sexiest Looking Super Sport Out In The Market To Date!!!! I Love The Damn SwingArms on Aprilia Motorcycles, Especially The RSV4 and Tuono! I've seen multiple claims on the Aprilia forums of a few extra hp from the Akky can alone. Only really seen it mentioned in the UK, where our fuel has a higher octane rating than the USA. May have something to do with the removal of the cat changing the back pressure in the exhaust and letting the engine breathe more freely. IIRC the ECU unlock makes that up to an extra 10hp, with the non-cat link pipe and no db killer.

Just heard one of these in the flesh. It is insanely loud. Think I'll get the Akky for my RSV4. The Austin can is just asking to get stopped by the plod. Plus the Akky gives you more horsepower.

Yes. Aprilia's are very well made and super reliable. I have had 20 (V60 Rotax powered) and they were awesome. I have owned Duc's also and prefer the ape anyday.

Loved the RC8 to ride. In fact it rode as good as any bike I have ever owned. The down side is resale. For some reason they do not sell well, dealers know this and the used value has plummeted. I got made an offer to good to refuse against the RSV4 so took it. The RSV would leave the RC8 for dead speed wise as for handling they are both great, the RC8 very easy to ride fast, the RSV you have to work it a bit more. My mates have said I ride the RSV4 faster than any other bike I have had.

@HardOfficial yeh i read somewhere that aprillia put some sort of butterfly valves in the exhaust so when its in nuetral it is a bit quieter to pass regulations or something, and then when you put it in gear they open and the true sound is released :) brilliant bike, by far the best road bike on the market today, and its pretty small for a thou, I sat on one and it feels like a 6

Did you experience loss of hp? I recently installed the same exhaust on my rsv4 and i notice right away the difference! I think the ecu has to be remapped. What was your experience with the exhaust?

The bars look like they're a reasonable height. How tall are you and how livable is the bike for day to day riding? The bike sounds amazing and looks stellar. I was praying the new VFR would keep the traditional sound (like this beast), but it hasn't :(

I live in Las Vegas and I have seen videos of this bike and reviewers say its the hottest running bike they have ever riddin??? I definitely don't want to roast the marsh mellows any more than I already have in all my years of riding!!!! Let me know if you agree!!! I had a1098S which I loved but could not get away with the hard suspension even after having it set up. The RC8 I owned rode great but used values are terrible. I considered the MV F4 which is still beautiful but they are very top heavy and are showing their age a bit now when you ride one. The RSV4 is between a twin and an inline 4 and is very very quick.

Where did you find the Akrapovic gives more power? All the Akrapovic provides is an ECU unlock code so that some map can be put on the bike which stops the bike from running too lean. I doubt there is any horsepower to gain from the engine.

@iang27f have Aprilia improved on parts delivery?, Aprilia have always (from my experiences) been a nightmare when you need a replacement part for your machine. I once had to wait 3 weeks for an engine casing to come from Italy.

The screen is a little high/rounded but there are not many options at the moment and it does the job stopping wind blast.

@brazilianzeusufc Of course you have to remap the ecu if it hasnt been already. An Exhaust System with less back pressure also needs to run richer than before, otherwise there will be a loss of power. The Engine is tuned to the Exhaust System, mounting another Exhaust also means changing the ecu. Greetings.
