Aprilia Tuareg 600 Wind offroad with HXC

Aprilia Tuareg 600 Wind with KTM LC4 HXC muffler. Comparing sound after installing a self-made DB-killer. It actually reduces the level, contrary to what may seem from the video, I think because sound reflects from the wall it may seem louder.

I own a tuareg 600 too, mine came with some kind of KTM muffler on it, fairly noisy. Mine has some carb problems though, it tends to race, idle is very unreliable too. Not the original carb either, but a flat-slide Mikuni. Beautiful motorbikes, fell in love with mine the first time I saw it and had to go through a lot to finally buy it.

My exhaust is also noisy, with a homemade DB-killer . Which Mikuni do you have? I have the original DellOrto, but been recommended to replace with Suzuki DR600 carb. I did some tuning using lambda-sensor and AFR data logger. Now I have maybe an electrical problem - the bike does not start some times when hot. Will try to replace the coil with aftermarket soon. If you happen to pass in Belgium we can meet.

Er zit een Mikuni TM40 op die van mij (volgens mij de carb van een DR600), die nogal gehavend is van buiten en binnen, maar alles doet het redelijk (gisteren nog 300km gereden, waarvan 90 onverhard). Ik woon en werk in W-Afrika, maar ben over een paar dagen in NL, en ga daar wat onderdelen zoeken: wil voor en achter vering vervangen, koppakking, wat andere dingen. Mijn plan is om hem terug te rijden richting NL als ik hier over ruim een jaar wegga.
