Been doin it for years and ppl the last 3 or 4 years been out moving the elk around in early march. No patience anymore. And now days u dont ever find a spot where a bunch of bulls drop. They scattered out. Makes me sad to see shed hunting go the direction its goin. Im glad i got to see the old days of ahed hunting.

This is exactly why Colorado enacted a shed season starting May 1st. A-holes were literally chasing herds of bull elk around on ATVs, trying to get them to drop during their most vulnerable time of the season. Makes me really sad to see the lengths people are willing to go to. I walk around shed hunting in remote areas because I love being immersed in nature, while there are selfish peeps out there who just want to disrupt it.

@markbosky ya we have "closed areas" from Feb.-May1st. Everywhere else is fare game. And u can say they do the same stuff. The one that pisses me off are the cables about 5ft off the ground to knock them off after they send the dog to chase the elk...

Good advice bro, I was wondering if I was too late as it’s April 3rd but I’m seeing a lot of fresh looking runs on trees so I’ll just keep trying, clocked in 45 miles so far and nothing, lol.

Just think how many chalks & hard whites are picked up they means that sat out there for a year or longer , so there’s always sheds , 😅
