I bought a kalimba after discovering you on KZbin last year, but my fingernails just weren't strong enough and using picks just didn't sound right. So I got a small tank drum (not as big as this one). I don't think I ever knew you also played the drum. It's lovely. I will look for more drum videos!

i always thought you just had to use your fingers to play kalimba, its a shame because i bite my nails a lot and i wanted to play it too.

It's not a Chinese instrument. The origin isn't clear but this version of the drum was invented by an American (I think) and is based on the African tongue drum. The kalimba is of African origin (Zimbabwe).
