APRS using the ISS digipeater as W1AW/4 - a review and how-to video featuring the Kenwood TH-D74

During this video I’ll be operating as W1AW-4 using my Kenwood TH-D74 radio for APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) using the Digipeater aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
We’ll review two separate ISS passes, the contacts that were made, and the settings on the radio needed to make it happen.
I was using the W1AW callsign as part of the VOTA (Volunteers on the Air) special event. More details about that at vota.arrl.org.
Equipment used: Kenwood TH-D74 radio & Arrow II 2m / 70cm Yagi antenna.

Can you do this with the Yeasu FT 3D?

Yes. I own an FT3D also and have used it with the ISS Walter, but... it's much easier to use the D74 because it has a proper keypad. The FT3D is hard to use for APRS messaging because of the small touch screen. If you're not sending APRS messages, then simply beaconing and reading packets works great.
