I'm not Aboriginal, my husband had tready status his mother from Fort Alexander Pine Falls Manitoba. Together we have one son in 2004 i was forced to put my 14 year old son in BC foster care system . which the BC government decided was better than reinstating my disability benefit's after being suspended for 19 months knowing i would lose my house and end up homeless. This was there only option. Paying a foster home where my son was abused. instead of reinstating my check of $1300 per month with 13 more months to go . The fact that my son's father was First Nations i now believe it was on purpose. To make it absolutely clear my son was not taken from me, IT wasn't because of abuse. IT was because my disability check had been suspended for 19 months and after 6 months I was going to lose our home and be homeless even after appeals and a tribunal. I know if my son wasn't Aboriginal they wouldn't have been so cooperative, with putting him in the foster care system. They paid more money to a foster home than i received from BC government disability check.

@@AmateurHistorian999 I know that a friend of mine similar situation her child had no Aboriginal connection and BC children and families wouldn't help her. My Son's social worker was only for Aboriginal children.

Don't let gov have any say in native child care. They always want more if you make any deals . Also get lawyer have that worker fired n charged with abuse. Native hair is scared that was setting presentence showing disrespect for doing that. Set example n don't settle welfare system is not just native there child trafficking kids all over Canada n states evil

Abuse,drugs,alcohol...etc...they blame everyone for everything and do not hold themselves accountable for anything.

See what @peachyland1253 said. The government would rather take children than give poor people money directly. Due to structural racism poor people are disproportionately indigenous, much like how structural racism harms Black communities in the USA.

As a First Nations man i dont agree with a India Minister handling our issues with Canada. Why isn't there a born First Nations member representing us?? Sell out to a foreign minister
