Winnipeg Free Press 24 January 2024 Headlines "Woman at centre of weekend Marlborough Hotel mayhem charged in fall knife attack" The article goes on to say "A woman who sparked public outcry after she was restrained by staff at a city hotel for allegedly attempting to stab an employee was charged with a similar assault two months earlier. A review of court records revealed RCMP charged the 18-year-old woman with assault with a weapon on Sept. 25 after she allegedly stabbed a man on a remote Manitoba First Nation."

Before the video came out, there was mention in personal facebook accounts, that she was from up North and I assume she was there for medical as she was back home soon after this. It was said she was passed out in the restaurant, and she was roughly woken up by men who were trying to cuff her and hit and grop her, which was obviously by video her lip was bleeding and she was disheveled, and was saying you perv you punched me and groped me. No person has the right truely to do this to an 18-year-old who was sleeping at the time. It happened in an area where spoons knifs and forks are. Plus is only males work here whereas is all the females are men man handling an 18-year-old who was cuffed. Plus in realy young person up north from. We are not sure she is either the victum or saying she was lottering, then because of that they say a knif was pulled. I tell ya if i suddenly was woken up by being punched and cuffed by a bunch of East Indain men I too would freack out.

A eye wittiness said he went into get change, and as he did so he saw her on the phone, no knife and not hurting no one, then the men, after came, grabbed her and zip tied her, and then stated take her in the basement, then other wittiness said they are taken her into the basement now, one man who said that grabbed her and was filmed zipping up his pants, as she cried they hit me and grabbed my privates tried to leave and they would not let her. it was told on face book accounts when people saw the video and asked who she was and what was going on, she was 18 years old from a closed isolated northern community. She was in restaurants waiting for brother, as many natives stay there seeking medical attention, she was said to have been possibly drinking, which is no excuse to abuse her either to attack a 18 yyear old girl who was asleep and or resting while she waited, The perpetrators said and did nothing till she was asleep and then something occurred she was punched and she was sexually accosted by a grouping of her private spots, she then was seen in the lobby using phone, as they zip tied her so she could not defend her self or protect her self. Wittiness said no knife was in sight when they attacked her and tied her up. No staff was around, and no person other than Wittiness said they had taken her in the basement now. When they saw it was being recorded, after she was assaulted in more way than one, she said you punched me and grabbed my privates You a perv, and tried to leave they again accounted for her and did not allow her to leave. This is far from over, in fact, it has just begun. Shame on a person who would side with a person as this who has done that to her, would you leave your children in their care. In this case, i do wish for deportation. As all are on stolen land to begin with. if persons prosper you can thank a native person, as you prosper at the suffering of others you judge.

Mr. Sinclair should not be making conclusions on whether this woman should be restrained based on a partial video. Of course it matters whether she or anyone has a history with the law or not. Why should she not be restrained if she is being disorderly and a possible harm to herself or others in a private establishment?

There is a story about this before the video went viral, it stated before that she was there, but she was passed out in the restaurant area, she was awoken to being attacked that they punched her and groped her, and then she was on the phone and a witness said no knife no nothing they swarmed around her and cuffed her then??? When she was no threat and had no knife as said, by wittinesses and video proof. There was no knife to be seen, media reports stated biest statements, saying only one viewpoint and the possible abusers said she was intoxicated which is used to do abuse and use that as a reason to look at the victim in bad lighting. As the police and hotel person were saying the same thing which means that is the way the investigation shall take as well??? As with all others, wittiness is being dissuaded. Police are guilty of doing one sided investagation rather than a whole compleat unbiest investagation plus common police should not be doing the investagting, it should be other investagative teams, such as one who know what to look for as person trained in investagating sex and human trafficking. Look at the mess with the Pig Farm in BC. Where a woman done a video stating matters with the pig farmer, and then after she too was found to be in the pig farm as a victum. Native peropels know of others stories of being assulted there, which gave these guys the power to do as they do and get away from it. As can any one jusfy why in fact she was 18 passed out cuffed and attempted to be taken into the basment?

Anybody on here ever heard of human rights. Any way you look at it they are covering the fact they are not allowed under law to violate someone elses human rights, plus a first-hand wittiness said when he first saw the woman she was alone and with no knife and using the phone, then they men then attacked her and zip tied her, and then moved her towards the basement where one guy is heard saying take her in the basement and another wittiness who saw it told the man filming they are taking her down into the basement now. Where one of them men who was to have said to take her in the basement was seen walking away zipping up his pants. If they had her zip, then why try to take her into the basment at all. These five men could not handel this in any other way, and why mimic a kidnapping plus you guys are not pervey to the video of the basment, and all that was recorded and documented down there. I am sure it shall appear on court, just knowing who it was who filed it shall not back down.

No person has a right to do this, as it becomes an excuse for further abuse, more so where human trafficking is suspected. No one should be hog-tied by another more so if it is the possibility of human trafficking? Does not matter, she should have never been tied up period, why are you trying to justify a human being hog-tied by another. it is not a private resident if you rent space within it, you are part of the establishment by renting the place. So she was not in a place in which is was entitled to be. Plus there is already enough other video evidence to show other illegal activities, from the establishment itself, which is a contributing factor to verbal evidence recorded stating AND NOW, they are trying to take her in the basement? As can you not assume that is in fact why they tied her, and when caught made up a story?

It's a crap hotel, everybody has known that for a long time. People want police to subdue people without causing bodily harm or death. The police didn't show up to do their jobs, so the staff did it the way people have been asking for, but now they don't like it. If it were a man the story would be different. Her prior history of stabbing is relevant because it shows a history of pulling out knives. If these people really want to help this girl they'd get her the help she needs to act like a decent person.

How does it all seem to think they know of this 18-year-old girl's assumed arrest records, if it was from the police how did you get this info and why are police and or others even start to say such a thing, then ya wonder why things are so bad for native peoples. She is closer to being a child than a woman as you say, as just because a person turns 18 dose not make them a woman, even sex traffickers do not do this, they usually go after the young ones, as that is who they get paid more for. It’s a privately-owned hotel, not a social services institution. If natives want to be treated just like everyone else, then they need to demonstrate that they can handle their lives like everyone else. It’s not the rest of society’s job to make sure natives don’t get into prostitution or drugs or other trouble.
