I have used this product before. I did find applying it against the grain seemed to fill better. So glad it worked out for you.

This product works great on oak that is going to be painted to a smooth finish. I have also found premixed joint compound effective for grain filling as well, and have seen people use regular wood filler thinned with water as a grain filler as well. I tried the spray on primer and filler (actually used on cars) and it didn't fill as well.

Yes I have used joint compound and watered down wood putty as well. Yes the filler sandable primer is good but it won't fill that deep wood grain on its own!

Love this piece but would go in with a little Rub and Buff to tone down the gold on the hardware. Glad to see you back.

Thanks it was a client piece and they chose the hardware color 😀

@@edythesandefur3034 I have just slowed down - I still do videos 😀 - but the whole process takes a lot of time (especially when it’s just you wearing all the hats) so I have definitely not been able to keep the pace I used and run my business full time! Thanks for watching and more to come for sure - trying to get back on a regular schedule 😀
