The wash was the perfect choice. It has a green tint and blends well with the bondo. It did not look bad at all but I love the fix.

I have this dresser. Just picked it up today. At least I think it is. Ethan Allen? It is nice to see ideas for pieces. So sad about the damage on the top but you made it beautiful.

I know but it was just too sheer - now you could continue with the paint and either add more layers or make a more concentrated wash. Thank you so much

Also, raw wood maple does great with water based applications. At least mine turn out better with water based washes or the Lily Moon gel stain. Maple is hard to stain and can be so blotchy.

How long does it take for the Bondo smell to go away on the furniture?

After it dries it pretty much is gone - it you have to sand smooth and you will get a little smell with that (but not bad)
