On paper, Minoto Aqua seems to be the perfect model of vtubing that one could envision: cute and relatable, possessed god-tier gaming skill, a genuine enthusiasm for idol activities, a sweet singing voice that melts everyone's heart... She is awe-inspiring in so many aspects one would assume she just walked straight out of some otaku's dream. No one else could've encapsulate Yagoo's vision of the perfect idol/gamer/streamer more than her, not even Tokino Sora, or the entirety of Japan for that matter.

few words, it was subtle but it meant a whole lot. she started the question with 'Id like to ask you about me, Minato Aqua' which sounds like she's already referring to Minato Aqua as a seperate being to herself. then he immediately followed up with 'rather than being about Hololive Production' which Yagoo probably means Aqua's achievements and contributions isnt limited to within just Hololive and explained how she has now become someone that a lot of people looked up to. the words 'as the talent called Minato Aqua' is also like reconfirming her that 'she and Minato Aqua are one'

I'm REALLY curious to see what she does next, cause I can't imagine what it is that she wanted to do that they couldn't work out (as she clearly didn't want to leave if it wasn't for whatever that problem is and the company clearly didn't want her to go either, if it wasn't an unsolvable issue on their end either). With Coco, it was kind of the same situation and it turned that... She wanted to go pretty wild on her streams lol, so yeah, it wouldn't work in Hololive. But with Aqua I doubt it'd be that, so I'm wondering... But, well, I don't think it'll take too long for us to find out (just my intuition, I have no info).

A good take there. I also not sure what this different in direction is. At first i thought it be more like she wants to spend more time streaming then actual events like the hikikomori she is... But this past month after her graduation announcement.. all the different talks she has with different holomens. Makes me feels like she actually enjoy the idol events and even tho she is an introvert, she does crave attention as well which i guess is a normal trait for a streamer. I guess we will see what it is when Aqua comes back in whatever new form it would be. I have a feeling she will be back much sooner then we think.

My entirely baseless guess grounded in just circumstantial evidence on what they couldn't work out would be one or more of the following: 1) High inertia in making things happen due to the size of Cover as a corporation. Maybe Aqua would like the flexibility and agility more commonly associated with indies. 2) Cover's expansion directions. Could be markets that Cover has plans to expand into or markets heretofore neglected. Could be one of the tech spaces Cover is trying to get off the ground (metaverse, in-house social media/content creation platform). 3) Her involvement with activities outside of streaming and idol activities. The earlier generations, especially, had more tie ins with IRL sponsorship jobs because Hololive had not yet exploded in global popularity to a point where tapping on a global audience was a viable business model. Sora is probably the prime example: she does not have as large an online presence with the English speaking part of the internet, but she has a large presence in physical Japan akin to how local celebrities show up on commercial advertisements.

Hololive and Aqua are really setting new grounds here with a proper send off... Let's be honest here, whatever happened that led to this, when people say "creative differences" it usually means something that has been going on for quite a while and finally reached a breaking point. It cannot be all sunshine and roses. And that's fine, it happens. But the extent to which everyone worked and went to give Aqua the send off she deserves... it's kinda almost unheard of, right? Of course there were send offs and graduations in the past, but this was like Olympics closing ceremony or something. xD Which Aqua deserves. But man, that really is a whole ton of collabs, recaps, shows, streams and a ton of other stuff. Holomems worked enough for a year in the past month around Aqua's graduation, specially Aqua herself. Did she even sleep? Was there anything left that she didn't touch to pontificate her story in Hololive? I remember... I think yesterday... or was it today? A clip that Aqua would have a surprise last minute visitor... I thought to myself jokingly "at this point, perhaps Yagoo will show up and tell Aqua to stay". It was Nene. Then I though, of course Yagoo won't show up, he's the CEO and all. It's kinda normal to insulate the CEO when things like this happen. I was wrong. xD
