I have the La Voce S2 that I find much more musical than the S3. I find the S2 to be an excellent companion for my tube amp (a moded Feliks Audio Echo mk2) and it becomes magical when listening with ZMF Atrium open. As always, a truly excellent review.

I also own LaVoce S2 for couple years. Just switching now to LAiV Harmony :)

In addition to a previous comment, I wish to add that Aqua Acoustic products tend to be very sensitive to the digital cable plugged in. The excellent Jorma AES linked to my La Voce resulted in an intense and fatiguing sound whereas the Kubala Sosna Emotion AES is an excellent match. Don’t use silver or hybrid copper/silver cables with the La Voce 😊

Thanks for the review. With products like this it's interesting to know that they exist and where they fit in the field. That aside I think that it should be stressed that this is not smart way to spend the substantial sum of money on this one, unless it can be tested in a system and happens to have wonderful synergy with it. RJ45 for I2S and BNC coax for S/PDIF are inputs that are useless for most of us. Time for a new version.

I feel that at this price you can just get a May and that will give you a nice soundstage and decent oversampling

The great thing about the la voce s3 is the used versions can be had for $2k which is much better than holo may . At $2k to 1.8k I think this is a fantastic value. Imo we should all call them diz-Zac’s.

I see your point. Even with a HQP license and a dedicated NUC or Mac Mini for HQP you can get a used LA Voce S3 and that stuff for less than most Mays sell used.

@@wavetheorysound agreed it’s at least an option to consider on the used market. If you can get a “deal” it’s competitive while a used May is still super expensive.
