4:20 A tube from "knob and tube" wiring, the tube would be set in a hole through a framing member, like a joist or stud, and a strand of wire would pass through it, keeping the wire insulated from flammable parts of the house. 5:15 An old radio AIR CAPACITOR TUNER. the first half fits together with the 2nd part, fin and fin, and would be rotated together to receive different frequencies. The first half is called a stator, the 2nd part with the shaft attached is the rotor. 9:12 The heating element from a car cigarette lighter. The coil would get red hot to light your smoke.

Those two items at 5:20 do go together and that is a variable capacitor that is used to tune a radio. The fins would mesh together but never touch and that is what changed the station you were listening to. It at one time had a string and guides that moved the needle on the dial as you turned the knob. You can also find them in old televisions but they will be more complex and longer with rotary switch contacts at the end.

The 2 multi-panelled metal plate sections appear to be anything 1900s-1930s electric and radio technologies of a rheostat (like the insides of a radio dialing mechanism to get the right frequency, they interwove their panels with each other creating a specific frequency. 5:27 is a radio tuner. The second piece rotates into the first piece to change the frequency. 6.11 is part of a ball bearing. This houses the balls and keeps them separated. The ball a little later is probably from this bearing. There would be another piece that holds it all together and some seals. 9:18 could be the element from a car cigarette lighter.

the ball chain could have been from dog tags, but I think it was probably attached to a sink or bathtub stopper. There was usually a hole in the faucet for the ring at the end of chain. The electrical insulator was used in knob and tube wiring to pass through joists or studs. You also showed a part from a variable capacitor, typically used to tune a radio or TV receiver.

@4:08 those are reeds from a pump organ. Found in theaters before talkies and of course other places. If you clean it good, you should find an indication of what music note it is. I found one when doing a bit of detecting next to my job's office, where our landlord is building a parking lot. Long story, slightly shorter: there was a theater on that block in the 1910's and a few more nearby. My guess is, it came from an organ from one of them. Our building, although from around the 1940's, is in the oldest part of town, dating back to the 1700's, and was the market square. In fact, our building was apparently built on top (but slightly further over) of another that existed in 1755. The 2 buildings which were next door were from the late 1800's, but were torn down about 20 some odd years ago. In building the parking lot, the remaining concrete and brick underneath was dug up, so of course I just had to look. Part of the property at the back doesn't appear to have had a structure on it according to the Sanborn maps, and it seems like it was a dump site for the nearby buildings. Found over a dozen in-tact bottles from 1900-1940's (including a large clay Carter's Ink bottle!), an oil lamp burner, square nails, bunch of unidentified stuff of course, and a whole bunch of coal, and ash. Coin-wise, I only found a single wheat penny, and can't make out the whole date, but it's 19_9. Something about the gray clay, river, or coal ash (probably) was not friendly to metal in the ground. A lot of the glass even seemed to have a strange iridescence to it. Also seemed like there was a fire at some point, based on a layer of black carbon I found a foot or so down in one part of the lot.

At 5:53 the two things with fins are two parts of a "variable capacitor". The fins of the two parts mesh. One side is stationary and the part with the lovely curve rotatates on a spindle to vary depth the vanes are meshed, but the vanes on the two parts do not touch each other. An air gap is maintained between each of the fins, or plates. Adjusting the depth of the mesh varies the electrical capacitance of the assembly. It is typically used to tune a radio to the frequency of the different stations. That one looks to be a type in use up to the 1930s or 40s. Smaller versions are found in modern radios.
